Overview

The Behringer EUROLIGHT LC2412 24-Channel DMX Lighting Console is a professional 24-channel DMX lighting console with 24 preset channels assignable to 512 DMX channels. 120 scenes are storable in 10 banks, and there is an integrated chaser with up to 650 steps featuring sync-to-bass beat plus a frequency-dependent sound-to-light function. Crossfade time is freely selectable, allowing for super-smooth scene fades and there are two additional, multifunctional channels for special effects (e.g., fog machine, color changer). You get ultraflexible fading functions for manual and automatic operation and intuitive solo and channel flash functions. The extremely effective preview function allows hidden memory and chaser checks--even during live performances.

The LC2412 also features dimmer control via DMX or analog output (0/+10 V) plus a MIDI interface for cascading two LC2412s (master/slave setup) and a PCMCIA card slot for storing of up to 25 complete settings with an optional card.

Illuminated display/controls and BNC lamp sockets guarantee easy operation in dark stage environments. The whole unit is ruggedly constructed and its steel casing ensures long life even under the most demanding conditions. A rackmounting kit is included.

I do alot of Church and home school plays on the side, and I've been looking for a board to do just simple x,y cross fades. Then found this board which does alot more than just DJ lighting. I love that it has much of the same features as the big boards I work with in my real job,(Strand, E.T.C.). It's great in theater mode, where I can use the chase PGM for lighting cues. Very strong!

If you expect to pull this unit out of the box and get it working, forget it. If you expect to read half the manual and get it working, forget it. The manual and user interface is virtually useless until you take a lot of time and fully study the product inside and out. I cannot recommend this product to anyone unless they like studying badly-written tech manuals trying to figure out how things work, as opposed to getting down to the business of working lights.

Mine Came DOA

Comments about Behringer Eurolight LC2412 24-Channel DMX Lighting Console:

Spent about 8 hours trying to get it to work with a computer programmer buddy, but we simply couldn't make it talk to the lights. So I went to GC and bought a myDMXBuddy. I'm so glad the Behringer came DOA because the myDMXBuddy is so much easier with so much less to go bad. Plus it costs less. MyDMXBuddy came with profiles for all the lights that I had bought and set up in about ten minutes. But the real fun came when I got my wife to program it so that she can run the lights. When I thanked her for her time, she said no problem, it was easy. I doubt anyone has ever said that about the Behringer.

But don't get me wrong, I love Behringer products and have many. Our band just bought an X 18 Air mixer and couldn't be happier with it. The big problem with the LC2412 is that it is obsolete. Steer clear of this one.

Comments about Behringer Eurolight LC2412 24-Channel DMX Lighting Console:

Already had his product before and it lasted ten years before it started acting up. So for $20 a year I got another one. Not a bad deal

      MA Lightcommander clone

      By Zak

      from Tallahassee, FL

Comments about Behringer Eurolight LC2412 24-Channel DMX Lighting Console:

This is essentially a clone of the MA Lightcommander 12-2. It doesn't have the quality of the Lightcommander, but the price is nice. This console is well-suited to controlling conventional lights and is also suitable for applications where LEDs are being used as replacements for conventional lights. The buttons and faders are far superior to those used by similar products from Chauvet and Elation, but inferior to those of the Lightcommander.

      Unknown Performance

      By John Arevalo

      from Seaside, OR

Comments about Behringer Eurolight LC2412 24-Channel DMX Lighting Console:

I chose the Behringer product for it's comprehensive midi capabilities. I didn't know it only had a 5 pin connector so I had to wait a week to get a 5pin to 3pin adapter. Once that arrived it seemed to work and although the owner's manual is really totally inadequate, I got the lights working... then it just quit working. So, I'll wait another week to get a replacement and I'll try it out again.

      Good for price range

      By LD- Grant

      from Raynham, MA

Comments about Behringer Eurolight LC2412 24-Channel DMX Lighting Console:

I have found this console to be able to handle numerous applications. You do need to be aware of your own kit and what the requirements of each instrument are. It controls 24 channels as advertised NOT 24 multi channel effects devices. I have used this as the main controller for numerous PLAYS, Dance recitals, fashion shows and other performance options. Once you get through the manual, you can actually program the submasters (and fix on the fly) with a bare minimum of keystrokes. Basically set it up then record! I own two (so far!!)

If you thought Behringer only made cheap products.

      By musickmanjr

Comments about Behringer Eurolight LC2412 24-Channel DMX Lighting Console:

You would be correct again! I never write reviews and never thought I would but I have had enough! I will never buy another Behringer product period! With all the features this product had I thought maybe they finally made a great product. It felt well built and when it did work the features were cool. However,it never made it on stage because every time I would set a program it would jump out of the patch and just start flashing. I looked for a solution and found many people with the same problem that apparently Behringer has been aware of for a while now. Still they continue to sell this product. Shame on them! If your time is worth more to you than money find another light console. ANY other console!

      Good basic controller

      By Kris

      from Williamstown, NJ

Comments about Behringer Eurolight LC2412 24-Channel DMX Lighting Console:

As a basic controller, it works well. Has ample memory to allow me to program enough chases for all the songs we do (much more than comparable other brands), and can hold plenty of different scenes. Plus it allows you to backup all your settings on a removable data card. It would be very difficult to program more complex lighting fixtures with this thing, but I'll be looking for those functions at a later date, and will probably just gang a separate fixture controller with this one, when the time comes. Bought it as a "scratch and dent" refurbished unit, and it seems solid enough -- all sliders work well, buttons operate, etc. Nothing really fancy, just a good, basic light controller, a bargain for the price.

Great with BCF2000 for LIght Jockey!!!

      By Healing Bear

      from Ashebille NC

Comments about Behringer Eurolight LC2412 24-Channel DMX Lighting Console:

I use Martin Light Jockey with the free software add on Faders(MIDI to DMX translator for 0-255 fader values from MIDI!!) with a BCF2000 MIDI to usb so that I can get into Light Jockey. I then serial link an LC2412 board from MIDI out to MIDI in on the BCF2000(also an inexpensive Berhinger gem!) which gives me a total of 39 faders and eight rotary encoders that are fully patchable @DMX in on Light Jockey or through the global patch. IF you use Light Jockey I strongly recommend you check this out. Best bang for your buck period!Peace from a controller freak.

A light board for small venue ballet

      By Dav C

      from Upstate NY

Comments about Behringer Eurolight LC2412 24-Channel DMX Lighting Console:

I've used this board for several choral concerts and small venue (story)ballet performances. There are so many features I'll probably never use & the manual goes into great detail about THOSE. However, I use it in the "THEATRE" mode*. (only 1/2 page in the book) *Basically, a 99 step, manually triggered, individually timed, Chase! Works well during programming and going forward. DOESN'T step back well! But,you can work around it's shortcomings. The combo analog / DMX outputs are great! One venue had 12 channels of analog Dove dimmers in-house. No prob driving. I added my own Chauvet DMX lighting to augment. I programmed show - teens ran it - worked fine! For cheap and dirty show control with combo analog & simple DMX - I'd recommend!
