Comments about Behringer EUROPOWER PMP5000 Powered Mixer:

Just got it, I am comparing it with my last powered mixer ( yamaha emx 2000 ). So far I am completely satisfied. The power output is a little less than what they say but that is probably better for me,a true 1200 watts is a huge amount of power. I imagine the 5000 is pushing about 300w into 8ohm wich is plenty, don't be fooled by that though there is plenty of power from the 5000. The effects are smooth, more than I will ever need. The mute is an awesome feature. The faders feel a little slick when it comes to sliding them, I am used to a real stiff fader ( it may just take some getting used to). Construction is pretty solid. The price is nice to..So far I can only say good about it. I use it mainly for recording and small venues ( bars clubs etc..) It does the job and then some.

Comments about Behringer EUROPOWER PMP5000 Powered Mixer:

I've had this mixer for about a year now and used it mainly for live events. I find the many output/monitor options to be flexible enough for many different application, the FBQ detection system to give me what I need to quickly find and remove feedback, EQ and channel tone controls allow lots of tone adjustment and the built-in effect to add just the right amount of color to performance vocals and/or guitars. My typical usage is 6-8 vocal mics, two keyboards, two basses, up to 8 guitars, drums driving two stage monitors, 2 powered PA speakers plus a powered sub. There are many other features this mixer includes that I'm not mentioning because the features above are key to my needs.

Comments about Behringer EUROPOWER PMP5000 Powered Mixer:

I bought this PA in Apr. 2009. (along with a pair of Behringer passive 15's.)I've had the pleasure of using it 40-50 times for a wide range of functions ranging from DJ-ing weddings to full on rock bands in decent sized indoor and outdoor facilities. The power is pretty impressive when you don't make the amps do more than they're supposed to. What I love though is the versatility. I run it in Main/Mon mode, and crank 1 amp out to the house and 1 amp right back at me. I use both Main Out's (1, a separate amp for subs and the other for an additional monitor mix), and the effects are spectacular! (more than needed for any room we play in). 2 suggestions from guy who uses this thing a lot: 1.) Get a durable road case. (gator makes the right one for this model)I have 4 bent faders that still work, but are hard to maneuver cause I didn't have a dependable road case. and 2.) Don't try to push this thing to do more than its capable of. Small rooms and light instrumentation? You got a juggernaut of tone and power. Big room, too many instruments & maxed out faders? You're gonna be over-ccompressed, feedin' back and askin' for 1 of those amps to blow.
