I have a 4 piece hard rock/alternative band and we purchased this mixer almost 2 years ago. We always set up the PA first and hook up the ipod to it while setting up everything else and checking sound levels. During our live performance we run 4 vocal mics, mic both guitar amps, connect an XLR to the bass amp, and use another mixer to mic the drum set and send that through the PMP 3000 as well. We have never had an issue with headroom, this baby is so versatile and the price can't be beat. We run two JBL 15" mains, 2 Harbinger 12" monitors as well as a Harbinger powered 18" sub. An additional plus is the variety of built in digital effects. We have yet to explore every option of this mixer but so far are very pleased with the quality of sound and power it puts out.
Hey first off I will say that sound quality of this mixer is very good and firmly beleive thet the class d amps are the way to go for vocals but my experience with this mixer has been a bad one after my first review which was good I started to have problems with my first unit I lost channel after like 16 uses so I chalked it up getting a bad unit so I got a replacement and after about 85 uses the right that has no fan began to cut out in hot places causing me to lose channel B from what I'm told service shops they inferior part to build these things so I beleive that the amp technolgy is right or others manufactuers would not be useing it but I beleive it a matter of get what you pay for in a powered mixer like this try mackie or peavey
I ordered a pmp5000 and it came in with a bad amp I needed a powered mixer so I got a pmp300 off the shelf at the store. I like the pmp3000 good sound but It cuts out on the left Chanel like it had a limiter on that side I have used it about 10 times and tonight it went up in smoke I am sending it in to find out what is up. I am going back to a mixer separate from my amp
I purchased this mixer in a Berhringer package deal (mixer/speakers/mics/cables/stands) over a year ago. It has been a great and easy to use mixer. Fantastic clear sounds for karaoke. I added a powered monitor speaker for the singers to hear their voice and they LOVE it! Perfect for small to medium venues. I have heard these units have had issues, but I have not had any problems at all. Other people (DJ's/KJ's) ask me what system I use and they are amazed at the sound quality and power.
Purchsed the PMP 3000. It worked fine, except the vocal remove button did not remove vocals...once i got it set up and adjusted it sounded good. Had a few questions, one of the repair centers told me that it was Junk. A few other people have told me the same thing. But others say it's great. So I took it back for a refund. Would like to know the truth. I Behringer a good product or not?
I bought this mixer when the effects module died on another Behringer mixer I had. While that one was being fixed, I decided to upgrade so we'd have a backup. We've used this on the road now for several months and a bunch of gigs and it has been almost effortless to use. We set it up, run a quick sound check and then start the show. I use Peavey PR15 mains Peavey monitors and I couldn't be happier with the sound - superb, crisp highs and nice thumping bottom end. We generally use it in L-R mode, but for smaller venues we switch it over to Main-Monitor. Either way, it's awesome. I like Behringer gear and not just because it's economical - it's good stuff! We've never had to run full bore with this unit, always have plenty of head room if we need it.
The PMP3000 is a great powered mixer for the price. It is well built and very functional. Unfortunately, the overuse of the peak music power rating of 1200 Watts is confusing lots of folk. We musicians and sound techs know and use amplifiers rated in (RMS) power. Our PMP3000 now looks a lot more humble at 100W per channel into 8 ohm speakers
I have owned the PMP3000 for six months and very pleased with its performance. I run Behringer E1520 speakers and the sound it produces is very crisp, clean and fills a medimum size auditorium with an incredible sound. I would buy this system again.
