Because I have a small recording studio, I felt that a PA system was a must have. I purchased the PMP 2000 because I had already spent a great deal of money, and this power mixer seemed like a good power mixer at a great price. The speakers were a no brainer, I used 2 Carvin LM12s. My complaint with this mixer is the amount of adjustment needed to find the right sound. With two EQ's, one for monitor, the other for main. It's very easy to forget when your in a hurry which EQs you need to adjust. Another problem I have is the pre-set sounds, that most have to much reverb. All of this can be overcome by taking time to adjust the mixer if you have time. However, if your needing to adjust on the fly it can be a problem. On the good side, I've had this power mixer for 4 years and never have I had a problem. I saw were others talked about the sound clipping, this may be a fault in their mics. My choice of microphones were the: Shure SM57, SM58, Sennheiser e 609 and 2 AKG Perceptions. It should be noted that I'm speaking of recording only. If I were using it live I would have to go with the Shure SM57 and SM58. The price on this power mixer is pretty good, and it has plenty of power. I wouldn't have a problem suggesting to others to give it a shot.

I've had the PMH2000 (the predecessor to the PMP2000, and pretty much its twin brother) for maybe seven years now and it's still going. I use it only from time to time. After a few years, we smelled smoke, and noticed that the FX send has stopped working on the first few channels. The rest of it still works fine; we just don't use reverb anymore! I'm not sure if I'd buy another one or not, but it's handy and it's been used at a number of practices and shows. No problem with the sound quality, overheating or any of that. I hate that there's no panning, but no big deal. I like the pre amp outs and the power amp inputs.

Don't pass this one up! Some people think this brand isn't great because of their price points...I have used their products for 20 years in a few cases, and they are still working perfectly! This is made great, and to me much better that the others...more channels, more features.

Comments about Behringer EUROPOWER PMP2000 Powered Mixer:

DON'T BUY ANYTHING ELSE!!!! The last 10 years i have done more than 250 shows a year. you simply cannot beat this system. I use mine with 2 vintage ramsa 15's on stands plus a 1982 peavey 15" wedge. I have used mine for small clubs with as few as 40 people to large clubs 3-400 people. Outdoors when I use it for 500 or more or when the venue is more than half an acre i have to add speakers & amps (with pmp2000 it's easy...1 patch). clients love me cause i'm up or down in 15 minutes. people dig the clarity and volume. the patching makes it easy to add speakers and amps and the functions address every requirement for 1-5 musicians. over and over again i run into fellow musicians and sound engineers who just can't believe that such a small, simple package can do so much, but it's portable, ridiculously rugged (2500 shows in 10 years), easy to use, interfaceable with large outdoor festival pa systems (one patch), has all the fx/eq you will need, and stupid cheap. This amp is worth 10 times what I paid for it new. tell the salesmen to shut up, and DON'T BUY ANYTHING ELSE!!!

This is my third Europower mixer and I love them. My first one was stolen so I bought another which I donated to a church. Then I bought a Peavey mixer and I don't take anything away from Peavey. Peavey also is a good product, but I missed my Behringer europower so I bought this one.
I love it and would recommend it to any one for practice or gigs.

Comments about Behringer EUROPOWER PMP2000 Powered Mixer:

We have had two outdoor gigs and played in numerous bars. It has plenty of power for both. Recently I used it as the "house" system for a six band Palooza-type event. Every input was used.

I played through a higher-end, bomb-proof system in another band. This does the same job at half the price - I just have to be a little more careful with it. In fact, I bought a padded gig bag.

No problems so far. Reliability? I purchased the extended, no-questions warranty so I am not too worried because it has preformed flawlessly.

Comments about Behringer EUROPOWER PMP2000 Powered Mixer:

Our rock band didn't have a PA, so I was looking for something we could use in practices. I found the PMP2000 in a package deal, but upgraded to better speakers and microphones. This has been a wonderful little system for practice and would work great for a small acoustic setup. Not quite enough power to use as a main PA for a rock gig, but then you're not paying for a high-end, high-power system. You're paying for (and getting) a nice little powered mixer that will do what it says it will do.

I am currently looking to upgrade our band's PA, but I will certainly be keeping this little guy to use during practice. It takes a beating and just keeps plugging away.

This is the second one we bought. The first one still works after 20 years of hard use in the clubs. We just do so many gigs that it was time for a back up just in case. Great gear and affordable. I love this board.

Comments about Behringer EUROPOWER PMP2000 Powered Mixer:

I bought this mixer because I was tired of moving my older Behringer mixing board and two heavy power amps. I had some concerns about this little power mixer. I like to use a compressor for my vocals when I perform live. I also like to have nice, natural-sounding effects for my vocals. I was used to my older sound system, but it was time to give something else a try. My back isn't what it used to be.

Well, after several live performances using this powered mixer I'm excited and relieved with the results I achieved. The mic inputs on the mixer, combined with the rumble filter button "on", provide compression for the vocals. The built-in effects are just fine. I used the mixer for very small set-ups in bars. I ran main/mono and it sounded great. I had separate EQs for my main and monitor which is a plus. Nothing like being able to punch something louder through your monitor and not affect the main mix.

The overall sound of the unit is great. I had other musicians perform a few songs while I walked around and listened to the sound. I was using 10 inch monitors for my main speaker and monitor speaker. They handled the mix perfectly. I barely had the volume on when only running the two speakers. I intend to run just main A and B and run my monitors right off the main speakers. That will raise the ohms and I'll really be able to see what this mixer can do. So far, so good.

A great PA with nice features. I'm not overly impressed with the stereo channels, and I love running stereo. Running strictly mono for my live performances was fine though. I'm beginning to like a mono sound when performing live. I miss some of the other features (like a sub-mix) in my other Behringer sound board, but I'll get over it. My whole PA set-up fits in my Honda Civic. You can't beat that.
