Overview

The 125W Behringer EUROLIVEF1220A Active Monitor has its own EQ and volume. You not only have control of the output, you can also tweak the highs, mids, and lows for a clear, true sense of your sound. It's a proven fact that the better you can hear yourself, the better you'll play-isn't it time you got active?

Great sound takes guts
Inside these Behringer loudspeakers is the equivalent of a 2-way electronic crossover, a graphic equalizer, parametric equalizer, a mic preamp, and two power amplifiers! A 12" long excursion driver delivers deep, punchy lows while a 1" titanium-diaphragm compression driver gives you clean, crisp highs. They all work together with 125 watts of handling power and don't need adjustments or a degree in sound engineering.

Triumphant transducers
Every stitch of these loudspeakers is built to deliver, but the fact is that their transducers (woofers and tweeters) are the only part you actually hear. While some manufacturers are okay with putting off-the-shelf transducers in their boxes, we custom-design and build ours from scratch. Not only do we wind our own voice coils, we grow the trees that are processed into the paper pulp that becomes the cones. We even machine the frames and backplates. Behringer's quality is truly under control.

Speaking of control¦
The Behringer F1220A Powered Monitor doesn't just sound great. It also gives you instant control of your monitor mix, even in mid-performance-something passive monitors simply cannot deliver! Need more volume? Turn the LEVEL dial until the desired volume is reached without activating the CLIP LED. Sound too bassy or trebly? Just reach down and use the three-band EQ (High, Mid, Low) to tailor a rich, exciting sound. We've even given you a line of defense against live sound's greatest enemy. If you're experiencing feedback, just press the Feedback Filter switch, then slowly turn the Frequency dial until feedback is eliminated.

Anytime, anywhere you choose
This Behringer monitor doesn't just cater to musicians. It's excellent for anyone with a need to be heard! With just one F1220A and a microphone or MP3 player, you can set up an instant sound system. Thanks to the built-in preamp section, you can connect a dynamic mic directly to the F1220A and raise and lower the volume with the Level control. Suddenly, it's showtime in no time at all. The F1220 also has a 35mm socket so you can easily mount it on a pole for use in a PA system.

Awesome sound, unbelievable value
The Behringer F1220APowered Monitor is designed to give your next crazed rant/public announcement/synthesizer recital exactly the monitor or PA sound you want with minimal prep time. Suddenly a monitor sound that once was only available in a recording studio is available in virtually any live setting. Loaded with a slew of incredible features but not loaded down by a heavy price tag.

Behringer got it right with this one. In the past I used a guitar amp as my monitor but didn't like how it colored the sound from my POD. Replacing it has made all the difference in the world. This thing kicks butt. I usually get something new and enjoy it because I review the heck out of it but I also have at least one thing that could be better. Not so with this monitor, it is exactly what I need and I couldn't be happier. The bass is beefy, the monitor itself is solid as a tank but not so heavy that your back is going to break. I would buy two if this one got stolen!

I bought this to amplify my vocals for practices. We're a hard rock band. It does a fair job, but it will not get near as loud as I had hoped. I don't see this being anything close to a viable option for live gigs. I'm connecting a Shure SM58. So far, feedback hasn't really been an issue. I don't really notice any difference when the feedback filter is on vs. off. I've tried connecting various mp3 players to the line in to amplify guitar riffs when laying down drums, but it will not go loud enough without distorting. I don't think that's a fault of the monitor, as it's not designed for that, but it's still a bummer.

Love This Monitor

By George Hanlon

from Tampa, Florida

Comments about Behringer EUROLIVE F1220A 12" 125W Powered Monitor:

My band just loves this powered monitor. It was purchased to sit in back by our drummer so he can hear the vocals. Works great. I have a powered mixer but the monitor out needs its own power so this F1220A Powered Monitor is perfect. I use 2 Behringer B212XL speakers for my mains coming out of the left channel and 2 Behringer VP1220F speakers for monitors coming of of the right channel. Then we use the Behringer F1220A Powered monitor coming out of the monitor aux out for the drummer in the back sound is awesome.

EXACTLY what you need...

By Daniel Griffith

from Las Vegas

Comments about Behringer EUROLIVE F1220A 12" 125W Powered Monitor:

Had a small passive monitor, which helped..but needed something with more power. This thing kills, has it's own level, eq...and a feedback filter which you more than likely will need. And the price is right- I shopped for awhile...was by far the best value out there in a powered monitor. And the sound is clear, strong....JUST what any singer needs......buy it.

Perfect for out use

By Scott Hodges

from Alabama gulf coast

Comments about Behringer EUROLIVE F1220A 12" 125W Powered Monitor:

We are a 5 piece blues band playing small to medium gigs with our system. Had been using passive monitors daisy chained to the mains through a powered mixer and never got good stage sound. Got one of these for my own monitor 2 years ago. At small gigs I run my mic directly into it then out to the mixer so I am solo in the monitor. Larger gigs from the mixer with a full mix to the monitor. Works great both ways. The last gig we played is REALLY tight around the stage with a second level right above us with a railing around it. Got a tip from another musician that he puts his monitor up there facing down. Did that and eliminated the passive that the bass and drummer use. It was GREAT, clear, plenty of power and more room. We are looking at getting two more.

We Can Hear Ourselves!

By Colin Chilson

from Blue Ridge, Texas

Comments about Behringer EUROLIVE F1220A 12" 125W Powered Monitor:

We were using passive monitors before we purchased these Berhringers. They seemed to perform fine during practices, but when we really needed them to perform during live shows, they just weren't cuttin' the mustard. So we were pleasantly surprised when plugged into these Behringer Monitors. It was a difference of night and day. It was like we turned the P.A. around and we could hear ourselves again. I'm not sure you could get a better bang for your buck with these great little monitors! We recommend them!

Great Powered Monitor for Small to Medium Venues

By Mark Ellender

from Houston TX

Comments about Behringer EUROLIVE F1220A 12" 125W Powered Monitor:

I purchased this monitor because I like the sound of live instrumentation on stage over pricey inner ear monitors. This monitor allows me to adjust my own volume and EQ if necessary and includes a nice feedback filter. I've only used it for two shows so far, once at a small club and once at a medium sized venue. I was able to hear it over the stage instrumentation (rock/alternative) while set at exactly half volume. It's not a perfect replacement for heavy duty pro audio monitors but is doing a great job so far for my needs.

Great Little Stage Monitor

By STEPHEN MORGAN

Comments about Behringer EUROLIVE F1220A 12" 125W Powered Monitor:

I picked up one of these on clearance and was so impressed, I got another one. You can't beat it for the price. Plenty of power, love the controls on the speaker. A bit heavy though.

So far, so good

By TIMOTHY HILLMAN

from South Pasadena, CA

Comments about Behringer EUROLIVE F1220A 12" 125W Powered Monitor:

I was a little worried when the box arrived. It looked like someone had played 4 quarters of tackle football with it. Very roughed up during shipping. The monitor was unscathed though, and I have to admit that so far, it's working perfectly. We played a job the other night with this monitor and two borrowed JBL powered Eon monitors. The Behringer actually out performed the JBL's in sound quality and the inputs and controls being on the front of the monitor were so much easier to access and adjust as opposed to the JBL inputs & controls being under the monitor. All in all, for the money, you'd have a tough time beating this one.

Good Value and Performer!

By Gary Uhland

from Littleton, CO

Comments about Behringer EUROLIVE F1220A 12" 125W Powered Monitor:

I'm a drummer and was seeking a monitor to fulfill two basic purposes: 1) floor wedge for live gigs; 2) play my iPod through an amplifier loud enough to hear while I practice at home. I also wanted a monitor with controls on the front so that I could reach them (somewhat) easily from my drum seat to make adjustments without having to get up from the drum kit. With the monitor on the left of my kit, I can reach the controls pretty well. It performs great as a floor monitor so I can hear what everyone else is playing. I typically want to hear the bass guitar and the vocals above the rest of the mix. The EQ, though basic, is more than enough to adjust the lows/mids/highs to obtain a good mix between the widely different frequencies of the bass, vocals and guitars. I haven't needed to use the Feedback Filter but experimentation with it seems to suggest that it works well. The monitor is also loud enough and clear enough that I can crank tunes from my iPod through it while I practice at home. One thing to note: When I first tried to play my iPod through it, I got distorted playback, e.g., the vocals sounded muted and distant. I thought the monitor was not functioning properly. The sound pro at Guitar Center pointed out that I was using a stereo (balanced) mini-to-1/4" cord - I needed to use a mono (unbalanced) cord. As soon as I switched cords, it worked perfectly. The Clip LED is also very handy for helping me adjust the volume easily and quickly. Bottom line: works very well as a floor monitor, as an amp for playing tunes and is well-organized ergonomically. I recommend it highly.
