Great Value!

By Orvfest

from Chicago

Comments about Behringer BCF2000 B-Control Fader:

I recently purchased the BCF2000 control surface less than a week ago. The main program I intended to use this to control was Pro Tools Le 7.1.1. However, out of the box, this is impossible. In order for the BCF2000 to control Pro Tools, it must be reset in an emulation mode. You have to update the firmware to acess the emulation mode you need. Behringer offers a handy WIN XP version of an update utility but it does not offer one for OS X. In order to update the firmware in OS X, you have to download a free third party midi dump program. I only knew to do this by reading the FAQs on Behringers website. Overall, getting it set up for pro tools on my mac was quite annoying but it did eventually work. After I got it working in Pro Tools, I also tested it in Logic, Live, and Reason and they all also worked seamlessly. The motorized faders are not touch sensitive, but I prefer them to be that way. Another cool attribute to this surface is that you can connect multiple control surfaces togerher via alternate usb ports or through their internal midi connections.

Good Value

By AlexRkstr

from Houston, TX

Comments about Behringer BCF2000 B-Control Fader:

First and foremost - this is your best value for a control surface with motorized faders. Now, when it comes to ease of use, it leaves room for improvement. The instructions are not clear at all. I am using it with PTLE 7.3 and I had to spend about 5 hours cummulative figuring out how to make it work with Windows XP and PT. The manual is a bunch of technical words that were confusinf even to someone with 3 years of experience with MIDI and home recording. The unit does work semi-perfectly with PTLE 7.3.1. THe only issue is that you cannot have it set up in Reason if you are using Reason as an instrument. It will try to talk to Reason, you will loose connection with PTLE and reseting it to PTLE is impossible after that. Motorized faders and endless rotors with push ability great plus. Don't know how long it will last, perhaps a couple of years from what I can feel. One last negative point is that the virtual display does not work for the bHui mode, so if you will use with it PTLE or Cubase in bHui mode, don't expect the display to work.

Surprise

By Tim B

from Jax, FL

Comments about Behringer BCF2000 B-Control Fader:

Despite what some may say about this brand, the BCF2000 has performed wonderfully for me in both Cubase SL3, Live 5 and Sonar 5. Other than the lack of a jog dial and a master fader, I have no real complaints. Once I placed the unit in Mackie Control mode, I have done nothing else but get to work recording and mixing.

Does everything well... Just a controller

By QualityGuy

from NY

Comments about Behringer BCF2000 B-Control Fader:

The Behringer BCF2000 B-Control Fader offers 8 faders which is more than enough for pretty much any small home-studio engineer. The faders are motorized which makes things 10x easier. Effects are easily chosen and controlled all from your fingertips. What's not to like. I still wonder why it's such a cheap price, with Motorized Faders! It is the best in its price range and will last a long time. The behringer gear is very stable and well made. I love it. You won't find anything else with this quality and motorized faders(let alone, 8 of them!) for such a low price.

Worth every penny! Great Buy, Go Get It!

By TRUE

from Toledo, OH

Comments about Behringer BCF2000 B-Control Fader:

Get this product! Its worth every penny! The motorized faders work great, they instantly snap in to action when you load up a song. As well as the faders move when you adjust your volume on screen, DUH its motorized! This thing makes mixing SO EASY! Forget using a mouse, buy one of these! From my own experience got it working great with Cubase And Pro Tools 8! Setting up can be a pain, but once thats done its wonderful! (let me know if you need help). If you dont have hundreds and hundreds of dollars to spend on a mixer get this! Its the best in its price range! I reccomend it to any one! You can use it to Mute / Solo / Pan and Adjust Volume (of course for mixing) and you can edit it to do even more! I have nothing but good to say about this! If you wanna mix with ease and like a pro, GO GET IT! Mixing made easy for sure! I did alot of research before i purchased this, and around its price range you will NOT find another mixer with motorized faders. (Personally i would never buy a Mixer with out motorized faders for recording!) Otherwsie youd have to manually move your faders into position everytime you load a new song! So OBVIOUSLY this was the one for me! 100% A+

BCF 2000

By STL BOY

from St. Louis, MO

Comments about Behringer BCF2000 B-Control Fader:

This device is awesome!!! The motorized controls are exceptional! And the price is even better!!! This item is also a headache to setup. The drivers and updates are not included so you have to download them from the behringer website. They are zip files so you have to extract and save them to your computer in the correct location...What A HEADACHE!! Why cant they just include an installation disc?!? Overall, the product gets 4 STARS, after you FINALLY get it to work...

Just Plugged It In and Started Working

By Professor Keyz

from Dallas, Texas

Comments about Behringer BCF2000 B-Control Fader:

Built a studio for a customer and installed a Neko, Mac G5, Pro Tools and Reason 4.0. The customer grew tired of clicking the mouse and ask about a control surface. While researching on the web I stumbled upon the BCF2000. Purchased it as an experiment and ended up keeping it for myself and installing several for the customer. I plugged it in, attached it to my Mac, started up Pro Tool 8 then set it to HUI and strated mixing. If you can't figure it out it's because you're trying to hard. It's very simple. I didn't even load the drivers. Thought maybe I installed them by accident via the internet so I attached it to a second Mac (not connected to the internet) follow the same procedure and again it worked without flaw. For the money you can't beat it If you can beat it email me. I definitely want to hear about it.

Really an awesome addition to Pro-Tools

By Steve Sanderson

from Hoffman Estates

Comments about Behringer BCF2000 B-Control Fader:

It is very easy to integrate with M-Power and easy to use. A bit tricky to set up the first time but the functionality is all there for a board. My only adverse comment is that when using the mouse to control the fader the fader on the board clicks. Doesn't really bother me that much because I bought it to control the faders instead of using my mouse... and that makes not a sound:) Clicking does not come through on the recording. Very powerful board and when it came in two of the staff at Gutiar Center bought one too. I have already ordered another for my other studio. Awesome product and great price!

Very nice controller, very low price.

By Paul Jones

from Cols,Ohio

Comments about Behringer BCF2000 B-Control Fader:

I bought the BCF2000 about a couple of weeks ago and I am really enjoying it alot. The faders feel good controlling my virtual faders in Reaper, the pan pots are equally nice. I am mainly using it in Mackie mode, which works well with the exception of a couple of controls have not been mapped correctly (which is not a big deal). I have been using a control surface plugin (by Klinke) in conjunction with the BCF2000 in Reaper which gives me a greater level of control of Reaper. The motorized faders are a bit noisy but they are not nearly as noisy as you might think. The only major negative about the BCF2000 is that the documentation doesn't explain its operatios that well, which is why I rated it 4 stars instead of 5. Bottom line is that I would definitely recommend the BCF2000 to anyone who doesn't want to spend 4-5 times more for similar features. -Paul-
