smart value

was trying to find a starter guitar, this worked out good because i didn't have to get an amp. since software is my amp, it is easy to set distortion levels and save them as presets, which is fun to switch back and fourth between different distortions. the quality is pretty good, and for the price its a decent guitar to play on its on. i have played friends yamahas and other older cheaper guitars and i definately like this one better. One thing i was disapointed about, the software doesn't output the sound through the computers speakers, so you either have to plug headphones into it, plug it to an amp, or just use a 1/8" to 1/4" adapter and hook it to your external computer speakers if you have them. also, the latency and noise is pretty bad through the software amp, but could probably be fixed with computer speed and the standard supplied USB cable. craftsmanship of the guitar is great for the price. can seem to get the stereo output working right now, just in mono, not really a big deal if not recording; probably user error though. not too much documentation for the software, just basic installation stuff. the software also has a built in tuner, it is pretty accurate and simple to use. overall pretty happy with the purchase, especially for just starting out.
