  • Great for live sound

As reviewed by ott0bot on 1/5/2007

If you have several instruments and want to send them to a single source (ei. effects proccesor, amp) or you change guitars in the middle of of song this thing is great. It's compact, really low noise and easy to use. It works good for recording, too. I do wish it had a little more tone control, and mute/solo capabilities.

  • I like it..

As reviewed by Drum bum on 5/21/2007

I bought the Berhringer Xenyx 502 mixer, got home, hooked it up to my dell laptop, and I love it, I'm running cakewalk project 5 version 2, and for such a small mixer it works very well, perfect for novice recorders or personal recordings. along with the midi controller I am able to play guitar, bass guitar, and mic my drums and have great recording quality. So if you are "not" looking to spend a bunch of cash on a mixer but you still want good sound guality, then I strongly suggest buying the behringer Xenyx 502 mixer.

  • Reliable, quiet, simple, small, good value.

As reviewed by Teddy on 1/27/2011

ATTN: THE XENYX 502 DOES HAVE PHANTOM POWER! It provides 15 volts across pins 1 and 2, which is enough to power most condenser mics. YAY! Aside from the sticker on the box and the 15v DC across pins 1 and 2, you'd never see it (no phantom switch). Perfect for putting a little kick drum (etc.) into the bass amp. PROS: Low noise (turn all unused channels down), affordable, compact, works every time, durable chassis, lightweight, versatile, cute, survives the rigors of countless gigs. Cons: POWER LED TOO BRIGHT (window tint fixes this), no power switch, outboard transformer cords prone to fatigue, plastic shaft pots, screws tend to loosen under heavy use. Reliable, quiet, simple, small, good value!
