Why use a '58?
I bought one of these over a year ago to use for jam sessions instead of my Shure, and ended up buying 2 more! They're hotter than a '58, seem to have a tighter pickup pattern (less feedback issues), and sound very similar. They also come in a very nice hardshell plastic case with foam lining. I can now mic up my whole band for less than the price of 1 SM58, (which are great btw). So this is a no-brainer...just get 1, or 2 or 3!

Looks like a Shure, tastes like a...
Behringer; the company that likes to make cheaper versions of other companies products. And, we like to purchase them. Why, because we are fools? Yes. Partly that, but also because we need facilities, and dont always need a $400 Mackie mixing board for our little rock band, a comprable $140 mixer might do it. This microphone is no different. I would disagree with anyone saying it sounds 'better' than an sm5x, but it sure does look like one, dont it! Decent all-round microphone. Perfect if you cannot afford a proven Shure microphone.

Nice Starter
If you don't really know if recording music is your thing but you have a good feeling about it, choose this mic. The low cost is perfect for you if you're not sure you want to shell out the big bucks. It is a surprisingly mid-high quality piece and I used it to record my first CD for my new company. Try it out, there's no harm in that.

Beats Shure SM57 or 58
I went to the local music store convinced I wanted a Shure mic. The owner found out I wanted mics for the church and suggested a straight across test with the XM8500 vs the Shure mics. I couldn't believe it. THe Behringer sounded way better, and way louder - and they made the PA at Church sound better than it ever had before. I ended up also picking up an XM8500 to use as my personal mic in our Christian Blues band, and again it easily beat out the SM57's the band has been using. I highly recommend the Behringer - besides...for the cost, if I ever lose it or it does happen to break down, I can buy two more and I will still have spent less than one Shure costs. Oh, and Guitar Center beat the local music store's price so I bought three more!

Great Mic
I have a small DJ side business and was using cheap mics with terrible results. I was debating whether to get an expensive Sure or stick with the cheaper mics. This mic is awesome; it has so much clarity and little to no distortion and has been an asset to my DJ business. One other note; I bought this online and the first one that arrived did not work, I called the customer service number and was treated extremely well and a replacement was sent out immediately as I told the CS advocate that I had a gig in four days, Guitar Center gets all of my business now.

Amazing quality. Better than any Shure mic.
Ok so I've been in a Metalcore/Death Metal band for a year now. And I've bought the shure mic's and they where good. But eventually came the day they broke. I spent tooo much money on just one of those, I didnt want to constantly buy a shure mic that I knew i'd eventually break. So came the day I went on guitar center and looked for a mic that had 5 star rating but not as expensive. I then found this. I was really not sure if I should buy this at first or if it was really good like Shure, but I said "hell why not". As I eagerly waited for it, Finally the day came that the package recieved to my house. Right when i opened it, I plugged it into my Amp and with the exact same settings i left my amp on when I had my shure, It came out louder, better, and had a very nice echo just like shure. I right away thought "why the hell wouold everyone buy a shure? This is WAYYYYY better than any other mic i've ever had" Now not only was it very good for screaming but when my guitarist did his normal singing on it, it sounded beautiful than ever. From the effects it makes live and practice, this thing is really good for recording, your recording would be the exact same like which would be a 5*. I recomend this to EVERYONE to buy instead of shure mics. This makes shure look like nothing.

Top quality
Great sound, sturdy, it feels like a brick. The only thing is i got a feedback problem but thats probably because i'm putting it through a cheap guitar amp. If you got good equipment it'll sound good.

Its good mic.
Its a good mic. I bought it mainly because it was cheap, and it had good reviews. It had a hard time picking up sounds like clapping and snaps. I do like the pop filter, I was originally going to buy one with it but I saw it had one.
