decent amp for the money

Well i gto in to guitar center to see the smaller version the BXL450(45 watt version) and that was just to small for my preference. i asked for the BXL 900 and i was suprised to see the size of the box. it is a pretty big amp much larger than it looks in the picture. Quality wise it sounds alot better than the fender 15 watt i was stuck with before. its a little heavy but dont expect an amp its size to be light wieght. the 7band eq takes a little while to get used to but it has some nice tones. the distortion could be better though its a little weak. the Ultra bass mode is fun to play around with as well. It can go pretty loud and its bigger than i really need for now but overall its a decnt amp. in my house im afraid to turn up the volume past 2 it makes my house shake.. if you need to move up from a crappy amp this is a good choice

Disapointing

All I can say is that this amp is very disapointing. Reading the specs on this thing online got me really excited. When I went to guitar center to test it out, I was extremely let down. First off, the amp is not loud at all. It says 90 watts, but compared to the 100 watt fender rumble, this thing is nothing. I had the volume maxed out in the store and no one even noticed I was playing. The eq is a nice idea, but unfortunately the amp isn't adequate enough to take full advantage of it. Their is no real bass rumble you would expect from a 90 watt amp. I guess its what you get for the price, but it really isn't worth it. I got a used rumble 100 and let me tell you it is so much better. Save your money, get a better amp, this one just doesn't cut it.

A great practice amp

The 900A is a great practiice amp. It has plenty of power for small rooms, a 7 band equalizer, a 12 inch speaker and rocks back to a monitor position. The price is excellent for a 90 watt amp. I like the way it sounds, plus at about 40 lbs. it is easy to carry.

Keep Looking

This amp was very disappointing. I bought it to use as a practice/jam amp, but it just doesn't have the tone or volumn to hold its own. It's rated at 90 watts, but this is way short of any 90 watt amp I have ever played. I really don't see a practicle use for the ultrabass feature, and the 7 band eq, really isn't that good of a feature to have either. Save your money on this one, and try another brand. You'll be glad you did.

Not pleased with this amp

I have had this unit for 40 days and it fried during rehearsal . The amp seemed like a great deal at the time ,nice features for the money but the sound is not that accurate and dont be fooled by the wattage . The drummer easily over powers this amp and he is not that loud of a player .A hartke amp of equal power was used at the next get together and at 50% power it blew everyone away . spend a few extra dollars and get the Hartke .
