  • Exactly what it says - great for smaller gigs

As reviewed by Kevlar Klyman on 6/9/2008

Honestly, its impressive for 90 watts. When I bought this I was a junior in high school with half a year of bass playing under my belt. It was exactly what i needed. If you're a new bassist looking for a performance-capable step up from your old amp, this is the right one. The equalizer really fine-tunes the sound, and the Ultrabass function can make you FEEL the bass even at the lower volume settings. If you do gigs in your hometown events, this will do, anything larger should require a bit more power.

  • Great Amp

As reviewed by Ethan on 4/21/2008

Wow, i played on a 15w fender rumble. this blows it away. just press channel 2 and crank the knob for wonderful distortion. the ultrabass is a little like synth button but not that extreme. its very loud. im a teen, therefore i am not loaded with cash and i was in a deadlock in deciding what amp to get. and i have no regrets. only 2 problems, no lines for pedals and effects and no tuner built in (180w has 2 effects lines). but it is still a great amp. and at a good price

  • Great at first.

As reviewed by Fullforce on 12/19/2010

I have had this amp for ohh I'd say a little more than a year and a half, and it has done the job. It is a very average, maybe even decent amp for band practices, and small shows (like high school talent shows and local clubs size) There are two main issues i have with this amp. 1.) The ultra bass feature, to me one of the main selling points as the name says ULTRA BASS, doesn't serve much of a purpose. It seems to add another octave or something very low that makes the actual sound of the bass weird. Some people may like, but I do not. Also, this feature does NOT work with my G&L L-2000 Tribute bass when i have the electronics set to active. It also did not work with my friends Fender P-Bass Special that is also active. It may be my amp, but since i use my Active bass more than my non active P bass, this function serves no purpose at all for me. 2.) It cannot handle active basses in general. Since i play a lot of Punk, Pop punk, Alternative rock, and on occasion Ska, i need the amp to put out a high treble esk sound. Like the stuff you hear from Blink-182, Ant-Flag, (Earlie) Green Day, and such. When i try to do this with my L-2000, it distorts the sound and makes it unrecognizable. I have had to mess with the preamp and change the settings much lower than what i would have liked in order for it to sound halfway decent, and even then, it doesn't sound right for the style i play. I will say this however, if you have a non active bass such as a Pbass or a Jbass, it will work fine, it just does not work that well with Active basses. All in all, it gets the job done for what you pay.
