  • great cab for the price

As reviewed by Layne on 7/23/2010

I bought this cabinet a few days ago. I was looking for a cheap amp where I can get a lot of bang for my buck. I think I made the right decision in buying this. It is so powerful that it felt like getting punched in the chest only using maybe 20% of it's volume output. The clarity and sustain of the notes was so remarkable. I bought it along with the Behringer Ultrabass BX4500H bass head. Even the head for its price was outstanding in quality. It handles both the low end and very high and treble notes very well and with good clarity. No static or anything from the cab, even with the head set to high settings on treble and using its "bright" option. The cab can produce such sound and power that I will never need a full stack. I've also read many reviews saying that the cab will last for years. Do not judge the size of the amp by the pictures. it is very big for a 4x10. I am about 5'8' and its about up to the middle of my stomach. and it thick and very wide. I was louder than my drummer and guitarist at practice and my guitarist plays through a Marshall half stack. I highly recommend this cab and head combo to any bassist.

  • GREAT AMP

As reviewed by EZ on 11/8/2006

This Cabinet is possibly one of the loudest things i've ever heard for its size. Its great, because its sound quality is astonishing. The bass, mids, and treble are all produced very nicely, and the tone is great. This cab is a bit heavy, but thats why it has a sturdy base. It doesn't slide around when your on stage leaning on it and such. I love this cabinet, and i play live with it all the time. Whether it be rock, pop, or a little country, this cabinet really rocks!!!. It has great tone i repeat, and i've always had a good impression on this cabinet. My friends use these amp cabs all the time, and i really think its great. Its more on the semi-profesional and intermediate level. Professionals could find use in this cab also, cause its just that good for its price. I really recommend it to anybody who needs a good cab. I really like it a lot.

  • Impressive For A Good Price

As reviewed by Joe Knoop on 10/8/2009

I recieved this bass cabinet not too long ago, and already I can tell you I'm very impressed with the volume and toning abilities of this cabinet. Using a Behringer Amp head (180 watts), at about quarter volume, you can hear it down the sidewalk from my house. Imagine it at full. The amp itself is a decent looker. Metal grill, cloth covering, sturdy handles on the side. Tone wise, I suppose it all depends on the head you purchase, and with a cheap one like mine, I've already crafted a number of suitable tones for the music I play in and out of my band. Although, if the head you use features an "Ultrabass" option, I'd recommend you weigh your options on other heads, as the tone becomes muddy when using this feature. Arguably, the only major downside to this amp is the immense weight (100 lbs). You'll definitely need a buddy (or two) to carry this thing around. I recommend this amp for any player with an honest sum saved up and looking for a worthwhile, gig-ready bass.
