smart value

was trying to find a starter guitar, this worked out good because i didn't have to get an amp. since software is my amp, it is easy to set distortion levels and save them as presets, which is fun to switch back and fourth between different distortions. the quality is pretty good, and for the price its a decent guitar to play on its on. i have played friends yamahas and other older cheaper guitars and i definately like this one better. One thing i was disapointed about, the software doesn't output the sound through the computers speakers, so you either have to plug headphones into it, plug it to an amp, or just use a 1/8" to 1/4" adapter and hook it to your external computer speakers if you have them. also, the latency and noise is pretty bad through the software amp, but could probably be fixed with computer speed and the standard supplied USB cable. craftsmanship of the guitar is great for the price. can seem to get the stereo output working right now, just in mono, not really a big deal if not recording; probably user error though. not too much documentation for the software, just basic installation stuff. the software also has a built in tuner, it is pretty accurate and simple to use. overall pretty happy with the purchase, especially for just starting out.

BEGINNERS ONLY!!!

Unless you are a beginner, I would NOT suggest buying this guitar. The tunings bad, and unless I got it with a floyd rose, I wouldn't use the whammy bar, because if you touch the whammy bar it goes WAY out of tune. So unless you are beginner and DON'T know how to play guitar, DO NOT BUY!!!

Average...

This isn't nessicarily a bad guitar, but it it's absolutley not the best guitar out there. If you don't mind constantly retuning your guitar to standard tuning, or a low quality tone, then go ahead and buy it. However, the best way to counter the not-so-good tone here is to use this guitar with a Line 6, then the tone doesn't sound so bad.

Malfunction

I'm beginning out on guitar, and this guitar semmed a perfect one to start out with, especially with the software and the headphones jack. I was dissapointed to find out the guitar isn't recognized by windows vista or my mac. I managed to dig up my old computer which is running XP, and it doesn't recognize it either. So i tried it out on 3 different computers and none of them were able to recognize the guitar, and said my usb device had "Malfunctioned". The guitar itself is well built, but i was looking foward to the software. It seems Behringer might come out with a vista update, but they really should put things like this in the description.

Beginner? Buy this.

This was my first guitar and i still have it. I am yet to be disappointed with this. If you've been playing guitar for over 5 years or you are in a good band, get a better guitar or get better strings/pickups for this sucker. Bottomline, this is a great guitar for a beginner and I love it.
