  • One Behringer product that performs well

As reviewed by Tom Hardin on 6/17/2009

I own just a couple of Behringer products. They seem to have a lack of quality that is related to the control knobs and connectors. I would not purchase any other Behringer products but this one is the exception. I found it quiet and free of the problems associated with other Behringer equipment. the control it offers in the recording environment is excellent and the lack of noise in a pre-amp is a welcome quality. Iwould recommend this specific product to anyone.

  • Other Uses...

As reviewed by Robb on 7/13/2010

I am no longer in the music or sound business. But I've had to move on. So, Now I have an Amateur Radio Operator 'Jones' - uh 'hobby'. I first purchased the ART Tube MP preamp for my broadcast room/radio transmitter. But it wasn't as clean as I needed, so I tried out the Behringer preamp. Much nicer. I use it with a MXL V88 large-capsule condenser mic. Very clean and uncolored sound, crystalline tonal qualities makes for a true broadcast-quality sound. As a whole, Behringer gear isn't always the #1 preferred gear in most recording studios. But I did find some use for some of their gear in my studio - worked quite well too. Many Ham ('Amateur') radio operators prefer Behringer mic preamps, the DEQ, DSP, and rack mixer because of the low price and the very high audio quality standard built in. Bradcast quality = recording quality - make no mistake about that! For the price, you simply cannot go wrong and could do a whole lot worse if you don't use this preamp. The single parametric filter in this unit preamp/channel is useful to get the low rumble out of the first stage. Leave the final vocal EQ for your recording pristine with the right preamp. But get it right to the tract by getting the right character with that pristine tube sweetener. You can't go wrong with the Ultra Gain Pro...
