I work for the audio department at the University of Wisconsin - River Falls. We own 10 of these DI's and use them HEAVILY (2-4) times per week - year round. I've read some complaints about failure, but in four years, we haven't had a single problem with any of them. One of our reps actually hooked all the DI's he sells to a scope and the Behringer beat out many of the higher priced Whirlwinds and Radials in terms of frequency accuracy (I know that doesn't necessarily translate into fidelity). Now, if your doing a priceless recording and need pristine audio quality, then I'd go with something in a higher price range. But if your doing live work, you really can't beat this DI.
This is a great buy, i bought mine some time ago and I am completely satisfied. I have a famtom x6, roland td-3 drum set, and a dean vendetta ,which i hook up to a ds-1 boss pedal,theres always a static sound when i connect to my speaker,BUT NOT WITH THE ULTRA-DI100.The ULTRA-DI100 gives me a clean and clear sound, eliminates noise, and gives it a nice volume boost (^_^),THNX BEHRINGER.
I am not ordinarily a fan of Behringer products, but this one is a big exception. I have been the sound guy for two active local bands. We have 5 of these and use them for live shows 40 to 50 gigs a year. We are NOT gentle with them and I have never had a failure. It has TWO -20db attenuators, a ground lift, two ?? plugs (so you can link to a local amp) and even an XLR input and output plus it is active (uses battery or phantom power) I cannot think of anything else you could ask for in a DI.
