An awesome little controller keyboard

This is a budget price keyboard that will exceed your expectations. Most of this type of keyboard have built in USB MIDI interfaces--but this one comes with a USB audio codec as well, with stereo RCA input/output no less. I work on a laptop these days and while the onboard sound is fine for listening, it just doesn't cut it when trying to run some of my VST's or Rewire devices. That little box is like finding a gold nugget packed with your keyboard. Quality wise this thing oozes production value. Even the USB cable feels high quality. Most companies just throw out cheapies at this price point. 49 keys plus octave shifting buttons is good for most music, especially sequenced music, but if you are looking for a portable grand piano to play in a classical style, this keyboard will dissapoint. It is loaded for bear for composers of electronic based music though. It has a very solid feel. The heft gives confidence. The keys aren't weighted, but they have consistent solid action. The buttons are a little wiggly by they don't rattle. Pitch Bend has good stiff springiness, and the modulation wheel stays put. The control knobs don't have consistent resistance to being turned, but they all stay where you set them. It would be nice to have more than just the volume fader, but I like this better than my Radium with faders galore. Installation is painless. As far as software, it comes with some decent stuff. Lots of VSTs. Others keyboards come with more high profile 'Lightware'- but this solution is satisfactory--I didn't buy it for the software.

Excellent MIDI/USB Controller

This keyboard is fantastic for anyone, from producers to djs. The keys aren't weighted, but they are definitely close to it. Much better than the soft keys that most midi controllers have. The keyboard is a piece of cake to install and is built sturdy. It also comes with a USB interface that you can use to hook up a mixer or whatever instrument to your computer. Very nice to have. Overall I absolutely recommend this keyboard
