It's a Patchbay

I've had this for a while. A patchbay is a pretty simple tool, but this one is outstanding because of the price. A patchbay is very useful in a studio if you have a lot of gear. On this one since you can change the functions of the contact points, you can really help simplify your workflow. For example, I have a CD player that's automatically hooked up to a guitar amp if it isn't patched somewhere else. The amp output is prepatched to a 4 track machine so I can record some song sketches without a lot of setup. Plus things hooked up this way are running through less cables. Of course it does make me a little nervous that this is a Behringer rack unit, but there aren't any moving parts, or electronics, so I think it's safe. Just make sure you get good patch cables. I had a set of Cable Up brand, and I was getting a lot of signal loss. I replaced them with a Hosa set and everything was better.
