  • A solid product for a good price

As reviewed by Fuzzball on 10/2/2006

This unit is an inexpensive 4-channel expander, noise gate, compressor, and peak limiter. I purchased this item to use for our churches sound system and it has been a fantastic bargain. The compressor does an excellent job of adding punch while not degrading the sound quality. I usual use this unit to compress 4 vocalists at the same time. The unit was easy to hookup to my VLZ mixer. The unit is built well and I use it at least 3 times a week and I have never had a problem with it yet. The instruction manual could have been better but for the cost this unit is an excellent bargain.

  • Home theater safety net

As reviewed by Bogie on 10/23/2006

Well, I bought this thing for my home theater because my buddy (known as The Drummer) has a tendency to walk over to the gear stack on movie/music nights, and "gently" torque the volume knob just a wee little bit more to his liking (what's left of his ears wants the volume to go to "12"). Well, this can possibly result in Bad Things, I don't want speaker cones embedded in the front row, and since I don't make anywhere near the money he does, and I've got some $$$ in my home theater's sound stuff, I figured this would be a decent safety net... I'm running all pro or semi-pro amps, and the room will rawk. With a _minimal_ amount of tweaking, I've got the thing set up so that it's minimally affecting sound quality (hey, I can't tell with most stuff) but I can get a LOT more punchy SPL out of the system. Definite winner! Only downside is the silver faceplate... This ain't no disco...
