NEW REVIEW - Just what I needed

I marked this down a star because the manual was really NOT helpful. At least for my application. Second, it would have been a bonus if the FCB1010 operated on phantom MIDI power right out of the box, which it doesn't. Although I am certain you could mod it to do this. I bought this unit to replace my footcontroller for my Digitech GSP2112 which got waxed by lightning. It took a while to figure this thing out, but now it does what I need it to do, which was to assign individual effects to a switch and operate them like a stompbox and be able to bank up and down and cycle through effects. If you are looking to replace an older Digitech MIDI footcontroller (i.e. Control One) that doesn't work, and don't want to spend a fortune, then this will work for you.

The best price value tool for the stage !!

It is a great tool. I use it with a Yamaha DG-Stomp and I am able to use both expression pedal for Wah/Delay time, etc.. you can combine and use one for volume and another for reverb mix. It is really flexible and with lots of memory. I really recommend it. Just be aware that you need to program it. It's not plug n play but there is the manual!!

This is a great tool!

If you do not have this and you need a MIDI controller for playing live you can stop looking you have found it. This control works for a variety of applications. I first found this unit when I was looking for something to use with my PODXT and I did not want to pay the high price for the POD foot controller?s. A friend recommended me this unit so I decided to give it a try and I was amazed. This controller is built well so it should last for a long period of time with frequent use. The unit has 10 banks with 10 user adjustable presets for each bank. This unit even has 2 foot pedals, talk about flexibility! This unit is a incredible value and if you need a foot controller I would highly recommend it!

Love working with this thing.

I'm running this into an older Behringer AC112 Vintager and I wouldn't trade it. I've been using this setup for almost three years now and love it. I can control almost everything about my amp with just a few steps. I can readjust before my other guitarist can retune. If you're working with any Behringer amp with Midi interface, I highly recommend the FCB1010.

Great Value Foot Controller

You won't find anything better value for MIDI foot controllers than the Behringer FCB1010. I used it with a POD 2.0 and VAmp. Setup is not the easiest, but read the manual! It takes some effort, and though the setup isn't intuitive, it IS logical. One thing missing is that you can't assign buttons to toggle on/off states (including the lights). You just select "channels." The expression pedals needed calibration, but once I figured that out, it wasn't too bad. Excellent build quality.

One word...Versatile!!!

Midi lovers you don't know what you're missing. This foot controller is loaded with some handy features that make changing from one setting to the next a breeze. With a stomp of a pedal(this thing is a tank), you can send up to eight different messages all on different channels to your rig at once. e.g Control change, note on, program change. Each of the two expresion pedals can be programed separately to control a rage. Volume on one and continous control on the other. With up to 100 presets, the possibilities for use are endless. Play the accordian or keyboard? With the note function you can turn the foot controller into a bass pedal. I'm currently using this foot controller in my virtual pipe organ setup and I didn't realize how lost I was without this. The 10 preset foot pistons mimic the general pipe selection on a real organ console. For along time I was without expression control of any kind, and the ability to control volume on the choir and swell divisions is a must when playing an organ. For about the same price as a Midi Solutions expression controller you get 10 preset foot pistons and two expression controllers wrapped in one package. The only negative thing I had with this(only if you are an organist) is the travel of the expression pedals. Organ swell shoes can go from a nearly vertical(85 degree) to almost horizontal possition. This is not a big deal, but Beringer take note for us organists. This will add a great deal of control to your setup. Definitely grab this one.

Totally worth the learning curve

You have to put a decent amount of effort into learning your way around this thing, especially if you're like me and haven't messed with midi since the 90s. The manual is pretty confusing, but there are a few forums, editors and some great user written instructions online that help immensely. The board itself seems to be built like a tank and is clearly laid out. After a few hours I was able to get the fcb1010 to trigger Live using a few different methods, even controlling track volume and plugin parameters with the expressions. The trick is to find the way that works best for you and what you're doing. Just scratching the surface makes the learning curve worth it! And having all that control at your feet makes this thing invaluable. But I cannot overstate my appreciation to the users who've made their solutions available online.

A great choice & value

An excellent unit for the money! A sturdy metal body with well-spaced foot switch buttons and pedals. The directions took me a while to figure out, but afterwards they guided me through the setup. I am controlling my Behringer V-Amp, and the MIDI controller makes my tone selections so much easier. I highly recommend this unit.
