Good mixer, better than the 802!

I was using the ub802 and it worked ok for me, but I decided to purchase the ub1002 anyway. I liked the mono mic preamps, phantom power, stereo inputs, and especially the master control, which is a fader unlike the ub802 which uses a knob. The fader's accuracy is clearly better than the knob on the ub802, allowing me to make the sound exactly the way I want it. I am currently using the UB1002 in live performances, and occasionally for recording at home. It works great for both. I can record and monitor at the same time with the tape to control room feature. The only things I would like to see added to this mixer would be a power switch and eqs on the stereo channels. Other than that, I would recommend this mixer to everyone!

Semi-Portable Mixer

I used the Eurorack UB1002 mixer to record my guitar students with a two-mic setup and a Minidisc recorder. It is very easy to transport this small unit from point A to point B, but you need to plug it into an electrical outlet. Also, there is no on/off switch on this unit, so I suggest that you plug the mixer into a surge protector/power strip and use the strip's reset switch as an on/off switch.

1002 Does not Disappoint!

This mixer is exactly what you'd want for just two mics, and a couple of iPod's. The ultra-low noise is outstanding; you can't even tell it's there. The sound and EQ's for the mics are perfect. For volume, the 1002 has a smooth fader which is way better than the standard knob. The sound is more controlled just how the user wants it. Like the other reviews, I wish there is a on/off button, but with all the neat features, I think I'll manage. Try it out for yourself!

Good sound, Cheap Construction

I've had this mixer for 5 years, and it finally completely failed on me (the main slider somehow managed to completely cut the right channel). In terms of sound quality it was an extremely admirable board, I used a lot of different mics, and the phantom power was definitely useful. However, I think somewhere around six months after I bought this thing, the right channel would start to get softer and crackly without warning and only after carefully handling of the headphones out knob could I get it to go back... and bear in mind, this mixer was the staple of my home studio setup, I never toured with it... in fact it just sat on a desk its entire life. This quirk was manageable for the several years I continued to use this machine for... until tonight, the right channel is completely gone, and when it does crackle back it's awfully distorted. So I need to replace it now. I guess five years isn't bad for this price though. Thanks Behringer.
