A powerful stage monitor with its own volume and EQ.

The 125W Behringer EUROLIVEF1220A Active Monitor has its own EQ and volume. You not only have control of the output, you can also tweak the highs, mids, and lows for a clear, true sense of your sound. It's a proven fact that the better you can hear yourself, the better you'll play—isn't it time you got active?Great sound takes guts Inside these Behringer loudspeakers is the equivalent of a 2-way electronic crossover, a graphic equalizer, parametric equalizer, a mic preamp, and two power amplifiers! A 12" long excursion driver delivers deep, punchy lows while a 1" titanium-diaphragm compression driver gives you clean, crisp highs. They all work together with 125 watts of handling power and don't need adjustments or a degree in sound engineering.Triumphant transducersEvery stitch of these loudspeakers is built to deliver, but the fact is that their transducers (woofers and tweeters) are the only part you actually hear. While some manufacturers are okay with putting off-the-shelf transducers in their boxes, we custom-design and build ours from scratch. Not only do we wind our own voice coils, we grow the trees that are processed into the paper pulp that becomes the cones. We even machine the frames and backplates. Behringer's quality is truly under control.Speaking of control… The Behringer F1220A Powered Monitor doesn't just sound great. It also gives you instant control of your monitor mix, even in mid-performance—something passive monitors simply cannot deliver! Need more volume? Turn the LEVEL dial until the desired volume is reached without activating the CLIP LED. Sound too bassy or trebly? Just reach down and use the three-band EQ (High, Mid, Low) to tailor a rich, exciting sound. We've even given you a line of defense against live sound's greatest enemy. If you're experiencing feedback, just press the Feedback Filter switch, then slowly turn the Frequency dial until feedback is eliminated.Anytime, anywhere you chooseThis Behringer monitor doesn't just cater to musicians. It's excellent for anyone with a need to be heard! With just one F1220A and a microphone or MP3 player, you can set up an instant sound system. Thanks to the built-in preamp section, you can connect a dynamic mic directly to the F1220A and raise and lower the volume with the Level control. Suddenly, it's showtime in no time at all. The F1220 also has a 35mm socket so you can easily mount it on a pole for use in a PA system.Awesome sound, unbelievable valueThe Behringer F1220APowered Monitor is designed to give your next crazed rant/public announcement/synthesizer recital exactly the monitor or PA sound you want with minimal prep time. Suddenly a monitor sound that once was only available in a recording studio is available in virtually any live setting. Loaded with a slew of incredible features but not loaded down by a heavy price tag.

  • Excellent!

As reviewed by Justin on 7/28/2010

Behringer got it right with this one. In the past I used a guitar amp as my monitor but didn't like how it colored the sound from my POD. Replacing it has made all the difference in the world. This thing kicks butt. I usually get something new and enjoy it because I review the heck out of it but I also have at least one thing that could be better. Not so with this monitor, it is exactly what I need and I couldn't be happier. The bass is beefy, the monitor itself is solid as a tank but not so heavy that your back is going to break. I would buy two if this one got stolen!

  • Good Value and Performer!

As reviewed by Gary Uhland on 8/4/2011

I'm a drummer and was seeking a monitor to fulfill two basic purposes: 1) floor wedge for live gigs; 2) play my iPod through an amplifier loud enough to hear while I practice at home. I also wanted a monitor with controls on the front so that I could reach them (somewhat) easily from my drum seat to make adjustments without having to get up from the drum kit. With the monitor on the left of my kit, I can reach the controls pretty well. It performs great as a floor monitor so I can hear what everyone else is playing. I typically want to hear the bass guitar and the vocals above the rest of the mix. The EQ, though basic, is more than enough to adjust the lows/mids/highs to obtain a good mix between the widely different frequencies of the bass, vocals and guitars. I haven't needed to use the Feedback Filter but experimentation with it seems to suggest that it works well. The monitor is also loud enough and clear enough that I can crank tunes from my iPod through it while I practice at home. One thing to note: When I first tried to play my iPod through it, I got distorted playback, e.g., the vocals sounded muted and distant. I thought the monitor was not functioning properly. The sound pro at Guitar Center pointed out that I was using a stereo (balanced) mini-to-1/4" cord - I needed to use a mono (unbalanced) cord. As soon as I switched cords, it worked perfectly. The Clip LED is also very handy for helping me adjust the volume easily and quickly. Bottom line: works very well as a floor monitor, as an amp for playing tunes and is well-organized ergonomically. I recommend it highly.

  • Great Little Stage Monitor

As reviewed by STEPHEN MORGAN on 1/19/2012

I picked up one of these on clearance and was so impressed, I got another one. You can't beat it for the price. Plenty of power, love the controls on the speaker. A bit heavy though.
