What is Class-D Technology? Instead of operating relatively continuously like Class AB circuits, Class-D amps switch on and off thousands of times per second, delivering power only when needed. In other words, the amplifier is either fully on or fully off, which significantly reduces power losses from the output devices given off as heat. Less heat means this amp doesn’t need a massive heat sink, which keeps it lighter. The B1800D-PRO's design delivers full power with incredible fidelity all night long, without the need for lengthy rest cycles.
When used in conjunction with switching-mode power supplies, which don’t require huge and heavy transformers, BEHRINGER's Class-D amplifiers provide tremendous dynamic punch and superior fidelity.
Custom-Designed Transducers Since the transducers (woofers and tweeters) are the only part of a sound system you actually hear, BEHRINGER custom-designs and builds their transducers from scratch. Not only do they wind their own voice coils, they process the paper pulp into cones and even machine their own backplates.
Take control The B1800D-PRO features balanced XLR inputs and outputs, as well as balanced XLR THRU jacks for connecting additional enclosures. A BOOST FREQUENCY knob targets a boost frequency between 45Hz and 90Hz. Flick the BOOST switch to give your selected frequency a +6 dB boost. These subs also feature a HIGH CUT dial to control the upper corner frequency for the subwoofer’s amplifier. The HIGH CUT dial does not affect the THRU signals, only signals directed to the subwoofer (however, it does affect the signals sent out through the Output sockets of the subwoofer to reach the full-range speakers). A LEVEL knob controls the input gain, and the PHASE switch reverses output phase to compensate for frequency cancellation between the subwoofer and satellite speakers. LEDs show operational status at a glance, including power, signal present, and input overloads.

I went to Guitar Center on 8/29/11 to trade in a pair of my Peavey 118's, a Crown XLS602, and a Peavey 23XO Crossover. They gave me almost what I needed to buy one of these Behringer B1800D Subs. I was really skeptical as the salesman wouldn't push these anywhere near the limit when he was showing me. With butterflies in my stomach, I traded and brought one home thinking I will buy a second if it meets my expectations. WOW, was I surprised. 1 of these subs sounds way better than my Peavey's together. I am going back this week to buy the second. Definitely follow the instructions when setting up, then tweak from there. I believe this unit weighs 120lbs so be ready for that. As far as looks go, out of all the subs on display, this one caught my eye the most. As stated in the previous review, the Xlr output's and thru's could fit a lot tighter. If your on a tight budget, this is the Sub for you. One of these will really go a long way.
The bass on this sub is TIGHT, as tight as it can ever be. I've heard many HT subs, none can come close to the 1800D in terms of tightness and accuracy. Performs very nicely in the 35 hz range. I compared this to a sub that costed $100 more, this one was way better in all aspects.
This sub is quite a steal indeed, sometimes companies price certain models way below their actual MSRP for god knows why, and this is one such item..
This sub hits lower than 99% of HT subs available in the market today. There are some subs like the KRK S series that hit slightly lower than the Behringer, however the Behringer puts out an incredible amount of detail in it's output.
I've used several other brands like JBL, EV, peavey, Yorkville,etc and the bass that comes out of this Sub woofer is excellent for the money. Honestly, I was shocked that Behringer products were this good.
