The EM600 gives you access to a vast palette of delays all in one amazing stomp box.

Delay is a synthetic echo that, in adjustable increments, repeats the notes you play on guitar. Each repeated tone becomes quieter than the previous one, until the repeats are no longer heard. This results in a thick, robust sound that can take on everything from the quick "slap" echo of classic rockabilly to the long, dreamy echoes found in psychedelic rock. Delay comes in many different flavors.

The Echo Machine is essentially 11 delays in one pedal: Ping Pong, Reverse, two different multi-delays, Tracking, Sweep, Swirl, Slap and three different tap modes. BEHRINGER Real Sound Modeling technology gives this pedal the ability to emulate the acoustics of a variety of environments. Produce realistic cathedral-like echo in your bedroom or cave-like echo at the corner bar. Real Sound Modeling makes it possible!

You can choose to give the effect a digital, analog or tape delay feel via a dedicated switch. You can also choose to put lush, psychedelic tails behind every note you play, or a more abrupt delay that fades quickly. Sculpt it into a truly unique delay by twisting the dedicated Mix, Time, Repeat and Modulation dials. There's even a Tap function that allows you to dial in the delay tempo by rhythmically tapping the footswitch. You can power this stompbox with a 9V battery or a DC Power Supply (not included).

  • Great Sound But A Few Setbacks

As reviewed by KEVIN MIKOLICH on 8/19/2013

Honestly, for the price this is an awesome pedal. I have about 6 - 7 different delay pedals and this comes with exactly what I need to get stuff done. Overall, this pedal has some great tones in it. It's easy to use. The two downfalls to this pedal are that the tap tempo function is not accurate and you can't seem to emulate the tap tempos you seem to plug in especially in the higher end of faster paced tempos. I honestly was frustrated with it when it came to that part of the function. The other thing is that the pedal light (in the engaged position) is a really bright blue light and it totally blinds you from seeing what settings you are trying to configure. Other than these two things it's a solid pedal. Some people have said that the fact that it's plastic is a setback, well in my case I could care less if it's plastic or metal as long as it gets the job done. Behringer made some really great tones in this pedal and some of the sounds are comparable with those in the higher end range without paying for that price. I love the option of having trails on the pedal on or off and also to be able to select tape, analog, or digital. Great buy if you aren't super into being able to plug in the BPMs to match something exactly and aren't a perfectionist.

  • Great pedal... similar to DL-4

As reviewed by Charles Thomas on 7/23/2012

I jumped on the EM600 Echo Machine for the price and options. I tested the pedal on my telecaster and was very pleased with the options. I found this pedal comperable to my Line 6 DL-4 for a price that is much less (however, no loop or hold function - those options are a huge price jump for higher end companies). I use the EM600 solely for vocals through the fx loop on a mixing board. I like all the settings but generally use only the first TAP setting. Trails make your echo continue even after the pedal is turned off. ***Beware: turning TRAILS to ON will turn off the pedal's true-bypass, hence, the mix knob will determine your signal level even with the pedal disengaged. Therefore, if MIX is all the way clockwise there will be no signal if the pedal is off*** I keep the trails off so this doesn't matter to me. I bought the EM600 mainly for the MOD parameter. I use a Line 6 DL-4 on guitar and I find the EM600 has a nice mod section, which I generally keep on Analog for a warm warble effect. I wish the Mod had another setting to increase the depth but for the price, this pedal is perfect for what I need. It's a plastic pedal but so is the Echo Park. I'd rather have a pedal at this price break on me than a more expensive pedal. The EM600 is solid enough and seeps reliable after a month of continuous use. Only time will tell. I will probably replace this with a DL-4 in a year or two because that's just the nature of consumerism... bigger and better!

  • Not a bad pedal

As reviewed by Kyle Allen on 3/8/2014

I purchased this pedal as a secondary to use more for ambience in worship sets or to stack with my main delay. I bought this one because it was cheap and it has a lot of different settings. The tones you can get are actually really nice. You can choose very easily between 3 different types of delay (tape, digital and analog) and multiple delay settings. I really like that there are a couple of settings that add multiple delay times in the one setting. That is very handy if you want the sound of stacking 2 different delays but you only have this pedal. I like that you can choose to have trails or not and I like that the modulation changes with the different delay types. Tape has the "wow and flutter" mod, digital has chorus and analog has vibrato (if I didn't mix those up). As mentioned in another review, the tap tempo really is not that accurate, so I don't really use the tap tempo feature on this pedal. Also, it is somewhat difficult to know when you have selected a new delay setting because there is no little click between the settings. On most delay pedals with multiple settings there will be a small click that you feel when you switch settings but I do not feel those clicks with this pedal. Not a big deal, but it makes changing settings in the middle of a song somewhat difficult. Overall, this is a very nice pedal!
