I jumped on the EM600 Echo Machine for the price and options. I tested the pedal on my telecaster and was very pleased with the options. I found this pedal comperable to my Line 6 DL-4 for a price that is much less (however, no loop or hold function - those options are a huge price jump for higher end companies). I use the EM600 solely for vocals through the fx loop on a mixing board. I like all the settings but generally use only the first TAP setting. Trails make your echo continue even after the pedal is turned off. ***Beware: turning TRAILS to ON will turn off the pedal's true-bypass, hence, the mix knob will determine your signal level even with the pedal disengaged. Therefore, if MIX is all the way clockwise there will be no signal if the pedal is off*** I keep the trails off so this doesn't matter to me. I bought the EM600 mainly for the MOD parameter. I use a Line 6 DL-4 on guitar and I find the EM600 has a nice mod section, which I generally keep on Analog for a warm warble effect. I wish the Mod had another setting to increase the depth but for the price, this pedal is perfect for what I need. It's a plastic pedal but so is the Echo Park. I'd rather have a pedal at this price break on me than a more expensive pedal. The EM600 is solid enough and seeps reliable after a month of continuous use. Only time will tell. I will probably replace this with a DL-4 in a year or two because that's just the nature of consumerism... bigger and better!
