      Behringer DI20 Ultra DI 2-Channel Active DI Box/Splitter (182481)
Availability:

Converts 2 separate unbalanced 1/4" jack inputs into 2 balanced XLR outputs.

The innovative, active 2-channel Behringer DI20 Ultra DI 2-Channel Active DI Box/Splitter takes the signal directly from an unbalanced high-impedance output--like an electric guitar--and feeds it directly into a mixing console or recorder. It is ideally suited to augment the traveling gear of musicians (especially guitar/bass players) as well as live/studio/broadcast engineers, installation contractors, and studios/live event engineers. The DI20 converts 2 separate unbalanced 1/4" jack inputs into 2 balanced XLR outputs. There is a 2-channel/link mode for flexible use as mono, 2-channel, or splitter box. In link mode, channel 1 can be split up into 2 balanced XLR connectors plus one unbalanced 1/4" jack connector. Switchable input attenuation in 3 ranges allows input levels of up to +48dBu, while a ground lift switch eliminates typical ground loop problems. Operates on 9V battery or 48V phantom power. Ultracompact rugged housing.

  • Unusable hiss generator

As reviewed by Andy on 1/29/2010

A band brought one of these into my venue. Because they had a ton of keyboard and weirdness, we had to use it because I needed more than the six DIs we have in the kit. When I brought up the channel on the FOH console, the hiss was astonishing. It didn't matter whether anything was connected to its input or not, or whether it ran on the battery or phantom power. The only things we could reasonably do is send a very hot signal from the instrument, which of course clipped this thing, and mute the channels between songs. Seriously, this is a must-to-avoid.

  • Simple, You get what you pay for.

Definitely the worst stereo DI ever made. We purchased 2 at a local guitar center a few months back mainly due to its stereo capability. - But the hiss we received out of these units no matter what was connected to them was unbearable.

  • The hisssss doesnt stop!!!

As reviewed by E Mann on 3/12/2007

My brother and I bought this product because of its features. The stereo capabilities were its main selling point as well as the idea of being able to run it on the phantom power. We used it ON a Fantom X keyboard, but the hiss was very LOUD!!! Its great if your sound system has the same issue but not desirable if you are going for a clean sound.
