Good Value
First and foremost - this is your best value for a control surface with motorized faders. Now, when it comes to ease of use, it leaves room for improvement. The instructions are not clear at all. I am using it with PTLE 7.3 and I had to spend about 5 hours cummulative figuring out how to make it work with Windows XP and PT. The manual is a bunch of technical words that were confusinf even to someone with 3 years of experience with MIDI and home recording.
The unit does work semi-perfectly with PTLE 7.3.1. THe only issue is that you cannot have it set up in Reason if you are using Reason as an instrument. It will try to talk to Reason, you will loose connection with PTLE and reseting it to PTLE is impossible after that.
Motorized faders and endless rotors with push ability great plus. Don't know how long it will last, perhaps a couple of years from what I can feel.
One last negative point is that the virtual display does not work for the bHui mode, so if you will use with it PTLE or Cubase in bHui mode, don't expect the display to work.

Great Value!
I recently purchased the BCF2000 control surface less than a week ago. The main program I intended to use this to control was Pro Tools Le 7.1.1. However, out of the box, this is impossible. In order for the BCF2000 to control Pro Tools, it must be reset in an emulation mode. You have to update the firmware to acess the emulation mode you need. Behringer offers a handy WIN XP version of an update utility but it does not offer one for OS X. In order to update the firmware in OS X, you have to download a free third party midi dump program. I only knew to do this by reading the FAQs on Behringers website. Overall, getting it set up for pro tools on my mac was quite annoying but it did eventually work. After I got it working in Pro Tools, I also tested it in Logic, Live, and Reason and they all also worked seamlessly. The motorized faders are not touch sensitive, but I prefer them to be that way. Another cool attribute to this surface is that you can connect multiple control surfaces togerher via alternate usb ports or through their internal midi connections.

Surprise
Despite what some may say about this brand, the BCF2000 has performed wonderfully for me in both Cubase SL3, Live 5 and Sonar 5. Other than the lack of a jog dial and a master fader, I have no real complaints. Once I placed the unit in Mackie Control mode, I have done nothing else but get to work recording and mixing.

Does everything well... Just a controller
The Behringer BCF2000 B-Control Fader offers 8 faders which is more than enough for pretty much any small home-studio engineer. The faders are motorized which makes things 10x easier. Effects are easily chosen and controlled all from your fingertips. What's not to like. I still wonder why it's such a cheap price, with Motorized Faders! It is the best in its price range and will last a long time. The behringer gear is very stable and well made. I love it. You won't find anything else with this quality and motorized faders(let alone, 8 of them!) for such a low price.
