Don’t buy this amp…

Don’t buy this amp… Behringer A-500 500 Watt REF-C I purchased this amp because my GEM amp died and was told my extended warrantee would tale 3 months to process so I purchased to hold me over… The amp worked great then channel 2 crapped out/over heated after running @ 70% program output for 30 minutes …Well that was a let down… Chanel 1 however was still working fine… Thought I would let it cool down a bit and it worked after it cooled off… What junk this amp is… I bet I got someone else’s lemon from an RMA before repackaged up after some looser in QA gave it a once over and off it went to me, I have several other items by Behringer and they work great so I thought this would be good one unfortunately I an still without a amp so probably will just get a QSC and make my problems go away…..

Excellent quality

I did alot of research on this power amp before I bought it, but my old receiver was failing and I needed something new/simple to power my setup. With the all the input options this model offered, as well as the 230W per channel in stereo I was convinced. So far this amp has provided plenty of clean power to my speakers and has sounded wonderful. I'm currently running it in one of the poorer configurations for quality, (e.g. binding posts, stereo, rca output) but I'm definitely going to get some TRS cables, banana plugs and new speaker wire to bring the quality up. I'll update this later, but for now, this is a much better amp than rated.
