When Beats teamed up with powerhouse DJ and producer David Guetta, they embarked on a journey to develop both a loud and lightweight headphone that would excel in nightclubs. While awaiting a delayed flight at the airport they had a kiosk with a large variety of headphones. After trying every set of beats, and some other brands. The sound quality was the best, hands down, from the MIXR. The one negative is that the ear cup adjustment piece, as you slide it up and down, can get caught in long hair and rip it out when you take them off. I could see where they could break at this point as well if your are being super rough with them. Probably not for a super strong party animal typeDJ who is pulling super hard to take them off and on constantly. A normal every day user of great sounding, noise reduction, headphones would however, absolutely love this product. Amazing sound quality. The best part is that, a preventive step, per the other reviews given. There is a warranty that you can purchase with guitar center that covers your product for 2 years. So if you hesitate buying due to the other reviews your missing out on a great sound quality item.
I got a pair of these for a Christmas present from my wife, she knows I'm an electronic junkie....for lack of a better word. These puppies do bring out the sweet stuff when listening to movies and even mp3 music, lemme give credit where credit is due. But as far as durability goes, if you plan on getting these bad boys, don't stretch the band too far thinking they were made for rough treatment. That's not even what caused mine to break. I was drumming and used these because you hear the bass and other instruments that another set of headphones in this price range and under, would not be capable of bringing out in the sound with crystal clarity. The earmuffs got wet n hot and I put the band over my knee so as to wipe both earmuffs in my pants to dry them off and....KRAKK!!!!....that killed my mood for drumming instantly. I agree with the previous reviewer that the sound is nice man, but for the money they are not a decent investment because of the plastic parts. The previous reviewer's pair broke after a year, mine didn't make it that far, mine broke in this month (May).....six months to be exact. I bought the Black BeatBox and to this day it still rocks awesome sound, having my friends amazed with the kinda sound that is coming out of that little black box. I was running from dishing out over $400.00 for a pair of head phones, but the Pros seem to be the only pair of headphones that could take real rough treatment and do it while delivering crystal clarity. To all those considering owning a pair of these Mixrs, treat them as something fragile and forget about the "Incredibly Durable" you've read in the add. Trust me on this....
These headphones are amazing quality. I have compared them to both the beats pro and the beats studio and neither of them has the bass intensity nor the clarity of the mixrs. The only thing that I didn't care for was the ear pad size. The sound blocking is amazing, you can't even hear the music when someone is wearing the headphones and they're blasting it and you'er right next to them.
i had a pair, then after year they broke. this happened will i was ready to do my next mix session in front of 100s. when i went to to them on all i heard was snap and that was it. These headphones are not for everyone, they are so uncomfortable and tight fitting, they are not one size fits all they are not flexible like the manufacture makes them out to be. don't waste your money your better off with the cheaper kind and get better results. Don't make a purchase just because an artist signs on it.
