These pickups give great tone, both highs and lows and are almost noiseless for single coils. They are highly recommended!

Comments about Basslines SJ5-3S Quarter-Pounder Pickup for 5-String Jazz Bass Set:

I put these guys in my MIM J-V last week, and man are they great! The stock "Noiseless" pickups (decent but not great) produced a lot of Fender hum when the tone knobs were opened up. These Quarter pounders?...hardly any. The B string sounds bigger, the rest of the strings sound better. If you decide on these pickups, you won't be disappointed! Easy install and a crazy good sound!

Comments about Basslines SJ5-3S Quarter-Pounder Pickup for 5-String Jazz Bass Set:

Like I said, let me give you some perspective: the group I play with features a '59 Les Paul played through two 100watt Marshalls in stereo, a 59 Hammond mechanical organ, and an amazingly talented drummer on a Sonor kit. I dropped these pickups in a Squire Affinity seris J-Bass V that I play through a 2x10 200watt Nemesis combo. No joke, these pups keep up like you wouldn't believe. My setup sounded great with the stock pickups. These things are amazing. Don't even think twice. Just get it.

New life to my Jazz bass

              By Mike Campbell

              from Toledo, OH

Comments about Basslines SJ5-3S Quarter-Pounder Pickup for 5-String Jazz Bass Set:

I own a 5 string Fender American Deluxe Jazz Bass that was made in 2008. It sounded great right off the shelf, but seemed to always lack in volume. It had good tone, but seemed to always be missing that special something. I ordered this pickup set and had them installed. I brought my bass back home a few days later and was completely blown away when I turn my amp on and began playing. With my on-board preamp set flat, my sound was louder, clearer, had more attack, and the B string was incredible. As a matter of fact, these pickups really help eliminate the floppy, farty sound that 34" scale fivers tend to bring with their B strings. This alone is worth buying the pickups for. The balance between the strings was perfect. The highs were clear, but not harsh, the mids stood out, and the low end was solid, enunciated, and punchy. If your bass seems to be missing that special something, give these a try. You will love them. I have yet to meet a bass player that does not like these pickups. I can clearly see why these are one of the most popular pickups Guitar Center and Seymour Duncan sells.

              SUPER FATNESS

              By P-bass Allstar

Comments about Basslines SJ5-3S Quarter-Pounder Pickup for 5-String Jazz Bass Set:

These Pups are a great upgrade for your Fender Jazz, or similiar bass guitar. I have the 4 string versions and I put 'em in my Geddy Lee Sig and it's just super fat. I play with an MXR outboard pre and it just sounds so fat and full. That's really the only way I can describe them. I can easily nail a Marcus Miller-esque type full sound, yet still can get the bitey nasily Jaco tone.
              Straight forward
I wired 'em up and they're amazing. No problems at all whatsoever.
These are kinda pricey, but worth it. Although I've worked in music retail since I was 17 and got a sweet deal/discount on these badboys.

              Fantastic upgrade

Comments about Basslines SJ5-3S Quarter-Pounder Pickup for 5-String Jazz Bass Set:

I didn't realize how crappy my stock pickups where until I put these things in and heard them. They are PHAT, clear, provide outstanding tonal range and at this price they are the best money spent on musical gear in a long time. They were a direct replacement for my MIM Fender Jazz, so no cutting required.

These things bring out a ton of bottom end, but can play brite when dialed in. My buddy has a MIA Fender Jazz, and I think this MIM now sounds better than his MIA. These are a great buy, if you're looking for a replacement set of pickups, this is it.

I was thinking of selling this bass but after this upgrade it is essentually a new instrument. The Baselines really make it boom and this bass will stay with me for a long time.
              Great pickups.
Excellent build quality, strong mangets, copper shielding takes the noise away. Uses rubber grommets for hight adjustments. Very nice.
An excellent value, transform your bass with these pickups.

Go buy these. Now. I bought them used from Music123, they arrived within 4 business days... to Canada! I installed these in my MIM Fender 5-string Jazz. Everyone agrees, it's now my best sounding bass, it sounds better than most American Jazz basses. Wanna know what your low B(or A) really sounds like? Then buy these pickups, you won't be disappointed.

Comments about Basslines SJ5-3S Quarter-Pounder Pickup for 5-String Jazz Bass Set:

i must say, i was a die hard EMG fan until i played the four string version of these in a mexican jazz and was floored by the outstanding improvement in output and tone. i have never heard a passive true single coil pickup with that kind of growl. the low end is quite prominent but not flabby or overbearing. the midrange is very articulate but also very malleable. the high end, while not cutting edge sharp, is clear enough for pretty much any genre that i can think of. although some out there might desire a little less output and a clearer high end, i would go so far as to say that these may be the best jazz bass pickups i have ever heard.

Comments about Basslines SJ5-3S Quarter-Pounder Pickup for 5-String Jazz Bass Set:

Listen I'v worked on bass guitars for about 3 years now and what people need to realize is that these pickups rock. I just put a pair in a peavy millenium 5 string and it pumps. The alninco magnets make it a formidable pickup. Plus this comes with a bridge and neck posisitions. You dont have to spend the money for just one. IF YOUR BASS CAN FIT THEM AND YOU DONT ALREADY HAVE THEM...GET THEM.You wont be dissapointed.
