Comments about Basslines AJB-5 Active 5-String Single-Coil Bass Pickup:

My warwick bass came stock with MEC dynamic correction passive pickups. I kept getting complaints from sound guys saying my bass was too "round" in sound. I decided to replace with active pickups and insticntivly turned to seymour duncan. Little trouble putting them in and I was unsure of putting in the blend pot that was originally on my bass because of the diffrent values in the pots. So I put A 3-way switch in instead. After a little guidence from the schematics on the SD website I got these setup and ready to go. The tone is deep and heavy with a clear low B string. I love to run a scooped out compressed tone, but clear and definitive. These accomplished that in abundance. Also I wasn't a fan of the bridge pickup that was in place before, now it is a desirable tone in my arsenal. I think anything you want to accomplish, tone wise anyway, is possible with these. However tone does start at your fingertips(or pick, be it the case) then your pickups then the amp...Now I just need the amp. However this thing through a boss gt-10B is just awesome. Pricey..but I think worth it in the end..you decide.
