This is only for Metal heads

I got this amp in February,2015 because it was on sale. I noticed it is very expensive, at the regular price. I must remark I play metal. I learned that this amp is a high gain amp, according to different online reviews and a video on youtube. I was excited about getting a quality high gain tube amp, nevertheless, I began playing around with it and realized that, it is a high gain amp in fact, but somehow did not satisfy my taste of a brutal tone. I like guitar tones like those of Lamb of God, Rammstein, Heaven Shall Fall by the way. The distortion I get from my Line 6 Spider 15 is more pleasant to me ears. It is a cheap amp, I know, but does have attack with some EMGs. I returned this amp. Nothing wrong with it physically, or internally. Neither the clean channel nor the high gain channel were warm enough, to be called a tube amp. They both did not sound bad, but could have sounded better given that this is tube amp. Could it be that I did not find a good sound because I am not a professional? It may be. Nonetheless, the high gain channel in my little Line 6 got this battle. It is important to mention that, as the Cougar 50 is very powerful in volume, maybe I did not get a good sound playing at room levels. I understand this amp is not made to be played at low volumes. Maybe in a concert, this should sound just fine. And maybe this amp has a very nice metal tone for some people, but not for me. I try to be fair with this amp. But if you are looking for tube driven brutal riffs, with punchy attack, at low volumes, this is not your amp.
