One Cool Kitty

Comments about Bad Cat Cougar 15 15W Class A Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I was able to pick this amp up at the Labor Day sale price and have used it at 3 gigs so far. The tone controls take a bit to get used to...they react as individual EQs instead of just more treble, less treble, ect. The 15 watts is more than enough to lead a 4 pc. band, especially miked and through stage monitors. Great tube tone, a cross between a Vox AC15 and a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, depending upon the very versitile tone switch which is the most unique feature on the amp! 2 of the 4 settings are extremely usable and can inhance the tone of single coils or humbucker pickups on any guitar. Cheers!

Don't waste your time, or money

Comments about Bad Cat Cougar 15 15W Class A Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I purchased this amp about two weeks ago and since they're not available in most, or any stores, i had to order it and have it shipped. After waiting a week i got my amp and let it sit for a day so it could warm up. Well, COMPLETELY broken. Something loose inside caused what sounded like a cymbal crashing anytime the amp was even slightly moved, even when all the controls were still on zero. Brought it back and had another shipped. Finally got it today and, what a surprise, broken! Before even getting to plug in, just flipping the switch caused pops and squeals left and right. I can't believe how poor this build quality is that i would be shipped not one, but two entirely broken amplifiers. They look nice on the outside but on the inside, they're put together with the same quality standards of a a cheep beginners amp. Wasted over two weeks with this and now two trips to return them. Don't waste your time!

Comments about Bad Cat Cougar 15 15W Class A Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I've always like low wattage amps. Taking a quality 15 watt amp and overdriving it "naturally" always gives better sound than any OD pedal. The guys at Black Cat made a fine amp for a good price. In addition, they added a "channel" selector that allows you to switch tonal qualities (using cap modules?) that adjust the amp sound among some of the more well know tube amps (not modeling amp like the solid state amps) but more of a handy overall tone adjuster.
