Overview

Create unparalleled recordings with your computer using Blue's best-selling Yeti family of USB microphones. Thanks to Blue's proprietary tri-capsule technology, Yeti microphones produce pristine, studio-quality recordings with legendary ease. And four different pattern settings offer incredible flexibility so you can record vocals, instrumental music, podcasts, audio for video, interviews, or even cryptozoology lectures in ways that would normally require multiple microphones. Whether you're recording at home, on the road, or in the Himalayas, Yeti helps you produce studio-quality recordings every time.

Total Recording Control with Yeti
Yeti features studio controls for headphone volume, pattern selection, instant mute and microphone gain—putting you in charge of every level of the recording process. If you’re experiencing distortion or feedback while recording an especially loud source—like the deafening sound of an avalanche—simply adjust the microphone's sensitivity with the gain control. Or, if you want to take a break in the middle of a podcast, use the instant mute button.

The microphone comes equipped with a 3.5-millimeter headphone jack and allows you to listen to what you're recording in real-time, without latency delays—that means no more hearing a note 3 seconds after you played it. You can adjust the volume of your headphones using the control on the front of the microphone.

Innovative Design Makes Recording Easy
Yeti doesn’t mind getting pushed around—it lets you adjust and pivot the microphone in relation to the sound source, which optimizes your sound quality. Once you’ve achieved the desired angle, simply hand-tighten the set knobs to secure it in place. Yeti is a side-address microphone, so you can capture the best sound by going face-to-face with it. The microphone can also be folded down for easy portability, or removed completely from its base for mounting directly on a mic stand, or on the Radius shockmount.

Hassle-Free Setup
Simply plug Yeti into your computer's USB port with the included USB cable, calibrate it with your operating system, and you're ready to record—rain, shine, or snow. Yeti offers driver-free operation, while the Yeti Pro requires easy-to-install drivers, available from Blue.

Yeti is compatible with Windows 10, Windows 8 (including 8.1), Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP (Home and Professional), and Mac OS X (10.4.11 or higher), and requires a minimum of 64 MB of RAM*.

Best Microphone for podcasting, educational modules, video voice-over.

By Mike Stickney

from Roanoke, Virginia

Comments about Blue Yeti Pro USB Microphone:

I use the Yeti primarily for video voice-over and corporate training. This is the 5th Yeti microphone I have purchased since 2008 and all 5 are working great. I send these microphones around the world for translation voice-overs and to get Subject Matter Experts (SME?s) audio for corporate presentations. These microphones are sturdy and provide crisp, clear audio. The USB connection is easy to use with any computer setup. I have used many other brand names, but the Yeti stands far above them in quality. If I had one complaint, it would be the driver for the microphone. Sometimes it loads perfect when you plug in the USB and other times it does not read it. You have to go to the website and download the drivers. Since I am usually having people connect the microphone to their personal computers in Dubai, Brazil, Columbia, Spain and Australia, etc., I tend to expect some problems. Bottom line for corporate users: There is nothing better for video casts, voice-overs, Captivates and Flash training modules. It is a must-have for content developers.

Great multi-purpose mic

By J.J. Michaels

from Mesa AZ

Comments about Blue Yeti Pro USB Microphone:

Nice full balanced sound, very flat response except in omni mode where there's a pronounced mid-bump. Proximity effect is easy to work with and control. Works well with vocals as well as instruments. Also useful for foley or sfx work, particularly in stereo mode. Having the capability of going xlr is a definite plus. When running via xlr through the Behringer preamp/board at the station I work at, the sound characteristics are almost identical to the Electrovoice RE-20's we use. Only complaint is that the usb software does not get along well with WinXP: produces a very glitchy sound. Works extremely well with Win7 however. I would highly recommend this mic for any quality recording application.

Worth Every Penney

By Terry McGrath

from Portland, OR

Comments about Blue Yeti Pro USB Microphone:

I sold my Yeti to purchase the Yeti Pro, I had no problems with the Yeti, it had such an ease of use and the recordings were very precise, and I was pleased with the headphone output with the zero latency. The ability to have multiple recording patterns alone is worth the price. The USB saved me hundreds of dollars because I did not need to purchase a sound interface for my Mac. However, I could see myself outgrowing the Yeti and with the 24 bit/192 kHz digital recording resolution with analog XLR output, I knew I would have this microphone for many years. For some reason the Yeti Pro just sounds better.
