Overview

Designed for Blue's complete line of spherical microphones, The Ringer is a vintage-style suspension mount designed to isolate the microphone body from low-frequency energy when mounted on a mic stand. The Ringer also accommodates virtually any microphone with a standard thread mount.

All Blue shock mounts and pop filters are composed of solid brass and individually hand-built and soldered. Crafted with the same attention to detail that goes into all Blue mics, these accessories will last a lifetime.

Does what it's supposed to. The knobs could be more reliable.

Comments about Blue Ringer Universal Shockmount:

While this is an excellent addition to my Blue 8Ball Condenser Mic, which I LOVE and wish Blue still made (XLR not USB), I get the feeling that I am going to have positioning issues with it down the road because of the knob at the joint. It doesn't have much of a range when tightening and loosening. Also, it's a bit small... and I have big fingers. I'm partially afraid I'll break it and partially afraid I'll get a cramp trying to tighten it so it won't loosen during a session. Now that hasn't happened yet in a session, although, when I move the mic from place to place, it doesn't take much for the positioning to shift at the joint. I don't know if the USB mic is lighter than the previously issued XLR mics. Maybe that's it. I don't know. That said, the increased warmth and clarity it's added to my recordings of drums (using a Tchad Blake one mic method) has been incredible! I've had my engineer friends check out raw recordings and they didn't believe I used only one mic to get such a beautiful balance and that is thanks to the mount. It is positioned in between the drums and cymbals with no rubble or rattling. This is a welcomed addition & I plan to get the most out of it.
