BC Rich Counterfeit Instruments.

About Me Experienced

Comments about B.C. Rich Mockingbird STC:

SOLD COUNTERFEIT BC RICH INSTRUMENTS !!!

After a positive, near 40-year relationship with GC Hollywood, I feel the need to disclose the details of a very disturbing situation. In 1993, A GC customer purchased four BC Rich USA instruments from that location. In or about 2010 or 2011, he retuned with them claiming that they were counterfeit (fake's). David Weiderman, a decades long employee and one of the sales people who initially sold the instruments, refunded him 10K and took possession of the products. Mr. Weiderman then put them back out for sale in the store. In 2011, I purchased one of them, a 1993 build, BC Rich USA Bich Supreme. He informed me of the history of the first buyer and I insisted on a purchase order copy from GC showing BC Rich itself provided them the guitar in order to avoid any future confusion as to the instruments legitimacy. A week or so later, he produced what he claimed was the P.O., I placed in the case and drove home with the instrument ... five years ago. The P.O. in fact was simply a copy of the original customer's receipt from 1993. I sold the guitar two days ago in the amount of 2500.00 to a respected dealer who blew up on me a day later over the fact it (and the other three) had been deemed 'fakes' on more than one website. I verified his claims with the actual (still living) makers of all BCR instruments from 1977-current. They (all four instruments) were left over B stock unfinished guitars purchased, then pieced together and finished by Ed Roman Guitars in Nevada. I have had two days off work, numerous hours invested in finding the truth and over 20 hours of anger and grief dealing with this. Guitar Center is possibly criminally liable as well for knowingly selling counterfeit guitars. A Civil Action is being prepared this evening and I will notify the SPD Detectives on Monday to, at least, report this as a intent to defraud.

Comments about B.C. Rich Mockingbird STC:

I have played guitar on and off since my early teens. B.C. Rich has been a brand I have always looked to first when shopping. When shopping for a B.C. Rich it can be a little difficult to identify the quality for a person looking to get into a good guitar that is not well educated on the models.

THE LOOK: Let's honest, guitars are beautiful to look at and the Mockingbird is as every bit awesome as
any style you can find. If you don't want traditional shape and want something flashy V's and other styles can be difficult to use in seated position Warlocks dig into the chest etc. The MB is sleek and still has that lap contour. There is no other style I prefer.

THE SOUND: The sound adjustments are top notch, the 3 volumes give you the ability to adj the pickup output and with the use of the pickup switch can easily adj sound levels with the flip of the 3 way. The 5 knob toner gives you the ability to adj from a very rich to deep tone and several steps in between. Not going to lie, the 2 coil and 1 phaser switch is something I am still fiddling with and while I sort of get it the coils and phaser are supposed to be a tweek to the current of sound and electricity flow to and from pick ups. Jimmy Page was a big manipulator of coils and phasing, start with him.

THE ACTION: Great, lightning fast.

THE OVERALL: The STC is a solid guitar. Amazing sound, great quality products and tech. Guitar Center made this an exclusive for a reason, it is an all around great guitar and well worth the money.

THE ONE ?: While it is not a con, it is something that needs to be said, FLOYD ROSE. If you are a beginner you really need to understand how intricate a Floyd Rose can be and how frustrating it can be for a novice, tuning it is far more pain staking than a traditional bridge. Once you get the hang of it I will be honest you will love it. Holds in tune superbly and the ability to even manipulate with the butt of your hand is a whole new freedom.

105% recommended.

I ordered this guitar online so I had to set it up myself. The Floyd Rose tremolo is a pain in the butt. However there are some very helpful vidios on YouTube. Once the guitar is set up and properly tuned, WOW! This guitar totally rocks! It is very fun to play and has an awesome sound. Looks awsome as well. I cant put it down! You cannot get a better guitar for the money.

Comments about B.C. Rich Mockingbird STC:

I just love this axe, can't put it down. The more I play it the more I like it! Like another reviewer here I own more expensive guitars. This one plays so well that it rates right up with them. Can't hardly believe the bargain it is - what a discount!

The intonation is beautiful and the FR bar stays tuned really well. If I'm bangin out some chords a bit hard and it does happen to get a tiny bit off it's super easy to adjust. But mostly it likes a light touch and responds very well. Like a YouTube reviewer said it has a sort of Les Paul feel - low fretting and easy on the hands.

The controls offer a really wide range of tones with split coils, a tone selector (varies the tone circuitry) and the ability to mix the pickups the possibilties are . . . okay, no I don't work for the company. :) Obviously, I Really like this guitar and would recommend it at the regular price. But with the huge discount I say Jump On It!!
