The B.C. Rich Ironbird Pro Electric Guitar looks amazing with its Onyx finish and offers professional features such as classic B.C. silver painted bevels, neck-through construction and an active EMG-81 humbucker. The Ironbird Pro guitar has the fire-power needed to heat up any stage.
Introduced in 1983, the Ironbird's angular lines and striking appearance have earned many loyal followers throughout the years. This guitar combines all the professional you've come to expect from B.C. Rich, such as neck-through design, 24-5/8" scale length, an EMG-81 pickup, Grover tuners and Floyd Rose Original tremolo.
B.C. Rich is known as one of the pioneers in Neck Through construction. They utilize it on many of their guitars, because it provides the best possible sustain, resonance, comfort and access to higher frets. Neck-through has long been considered the premium construction method for high-end guitars. This construction starts with premium maple or mahogany and runs from the tip of the headstock to the end of the guitar. This means that the headstock, fingerboard, pickups and bridge all are mounted to this single sound foundation. Sonically it is a difference you can hear.
Using a ceramic magnet, the EMG-81 active humbucker is a high-output pickup designed especially for the lead guitarist. The 81 is at its best for high volume overdrive and amps with a master volume. Whether you're playing power rock and roll, or overdriving your amp, there's a razor sharp attack, and incredible sustain for brilliant soloing. If you're looking for exceptional qualities in a rock pickup, the EMG-81 is the one.
Most of B.C. Rich body styles employ a beveled edge around the shape. In many ways bevels on a top are similar to facets on a cut stone. They catch the light and reflect at different angles giving the instrument more of a three dimensional look. Some of the B.C. Rich top bevels are extreme and wide while others are subtle and narrow. Occasionally the shape of the instrument is accented by painting the bevels a contrasting color.
Other appointments on this awesome shredder include C neck shape, 24 jumbo frets, 1-11/16" nut width, 12" radius, Floyd Rose Original bridge, Grover tuners, and a gloss finish.

Features The guitar was pretty descent, but I didn't like the sound of the puckups, they where to warm, so I swopt them with the pickups from an epiphone and an other Les Paul copy that I had laying around. The worst part of the guitar was that it was neck heavey. It droped down when I let go of the neck. I finaly managed to get that out of the way by putting the strep buttons in line with the low E string. Playability With the original strap button location I would say poor bbut now it's good. With the pickups changed and the right pedals it rocks. Quality The guitar can stand my abuse and my ideas to mod my guitar. But because of that it's hard to say. Lets say with my mods I think it sounds good, no noise, no cracks, just a desent instument. But to be honest I'm also glad that I resently bought my self an Ibanez rg 370, because I've missed that guitar so much. Durability I have taken this guitar apart often. I can not remember the factory reliabilaty(??)(sorry I'm still dutch) The black paint was good as a base to paint on. It has seen many colors but now I'm sticking to an aluminium paint. I've air brused some screws and lines on it and made it look like a peace of metal. It's my main guitar in drop C# when I play live with my band, but when I have a gig I juse about 6 guitars inc. a backup guitar. ( I know it's a lot, but hey; If you've got them you might as well show them!!)
Bc Rich just keeps on making their guitars THAT much better every year.By that I mean everything from bridge to headstock. The guitar is just a tonal workhorse , any kind of tone across the board you can dial in and find with this guitar.Great clarity, articulation, attack, and aggressiveness, no matter what style you play. The guitar is very easy to play due to the Floyd rose system and the way the heel of the neck sits in your palm , the contour of the fretboard, it all makes it a pleasure to play on an instrument well constructed as this is.
