Great Bass!!!

By Richard

from roswell, ga

The sound is awesome, deep, rich, yet still powerful. The pickups are not bad for stock. the guitar is a bit awkward at first however what I noticed was when you sit down and set it in your lap to play it's very comfortable, fits on the leg perfectly unlike other guitars. The strap issues are small, I replaced with lock straps. I did find the balance to be off but that's a small price for the sound and look of the bass. I also have a schecter damien and it has a bit of a different sound, these are my children and they have different personalities, none of them bad and I love them both and no favorites, just love to play with both of them. One more thing, the thru neck design is a definite plus, I did pick up a more expensive bass and then played this one and found very little if any difference at all. All in all, I am very pleased with this guitar and would definitely recommend this bass as a best buy. Gear: Ibanez 405 Schecter damien 4 B.C. Rich Mockingbird Ampeg BA 115

Good Bass

By Matthew Blank

from Waukesha, WI

You will definately turn heads just becuase of the beauty and uniquness of this bass, as well as the sound. I had been looking mainly for something with a slightly different body style, but also a different sound than my usual Ibanez SGR450. I was utterly surprised to hear that the tone it provides is a very bright sound. It's definately what I was looking for and has given me the chance to go for different styles of music other than the usual rock. The positioning of the strap knobs is a little awkward where it will tip over when not being held up at the fret board which makes this a difficult bass to control. Also the body takes a little while to get used to and you'll need a neck stand to hold this guitar because the shape doesn't allow for conventional base stand support. The stock strings are a little rough and hard. I would suggest newer strings, or in my case(Elixer Nano-Web Medium .045-.105 Long Scale) Elixers give the bass even more brightness while giving a smoother feel and the heaviness that the low end deserves. Also about the body, the fact that it is all one peice makes this bass a beauty and helps give the bass it's most unique features. The pearl cloud inlays on the fretboard and the white lining on the sides of the board remind me of a very retro feel. In short, this bass hasn't been a dissapointment and I would recomend this for intermediate or close to pro bassists.

Friggin' sweet

By J. Cooper

from Tucson, Arizona

Man I love this bass! Ive had t for about a year now and it is a great addition to my collection. I use this and a Fender P bass as my main basses but I much prefer the B.C. Rich. It can hit every note I need it to and is easy to control. The body is a bit akwardly shaped at first, but you can get used to it. The stock pickups are not half bad either, they get the job done. It has a really nice finish on it, my friends are always shocked when I pull this out at practice. All around, its a pretty solid bass that can cover a wide range of tones.

great bass

By Smitty

from middletown/ohio

I really enjoy this bass. It is heavier than a lot of newer basses which is something I like about it. The neck thru gives it a better tone.I put EMG pick ups on mine. Only thing I dont like is the bridge it is ok but I wish it adjusted a little lower. Great bass for the money as far as looks go it cant be beat.

i had my mockingbird for a couple months now and it hasnt disatisfied me yet it has great tone, great pickups, i love almost everything about it. the only problems i had with it was when i removed the strap holders to add locking ones there were two broken nails already inside of the wood along with a third unbroken one (this was only with the one near the bridge). Other then that though its a great bass to have and its very reliable.

More and more pleased

By Bryan B

from bellingham WA

This thing just gets better everytime I play it. It is built extremely well: the fret work is great, the action is lower and faster than almost anything twice the price(and I have looked)and the tone is clear and versitle. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 on quailty is because it has, (or at least mine does) some flubs in the clear coat. honestly, you can't even see them unless you closely examine it under bright lights. Otherwise, this thing is an instrument to be proud of.

I just recently added this bass to my collection. When I picked it up and tried it out I was worried how it would sound through my own equipment (I tried it out on the BEST that they had). I used it the same day at the show and this bass rocks!!!!! From awesome lows to decently good highs (which I don't use much of) this bass is very well rounded. The only drawbacks I have with this bass is it is a little heavy (neck likes to drop when you let go) and you definetly have to have straplocks on it (almost hit the ground 3 times with me in one set). This one is my number one player! I only use my 5 string now when I have to, and that's not very often. Some might consider it a little pricey but you get what you pay for. This bass is well worth the money!

mocking bird BASS

By BaSsFrEaK

from Orange County, CA

Speechles..... This is downright THE most amzing guitar evr built.I mean, a B.C. Richmocking bird "bass", now that is un believble. It has the awsome inlays and evrything. My friend has recently bought the black one and it is hardcore. The neck is smooth for very fast manuverability. The 4 pick-ups r really strong with awsome tone. I recommend this to intermediate to expert bass players, the reason for that is because its pretty heavy and the quality. PROS Awsome looks 10/10 on playability its a BC Rich Cons price (for some) wieght
