Overview

The B.C. Rich ASM 1 is an electric guitar that is not short on looks or features! Reliable and growling B.C. Rich B.D.S.M pickups coupled with a vintage style tremolo allow you to throw down your best riffs with style. B.C. Rich even added their signature hollowpoint inlays on the fretboard. The flat-top styling gives a bold and pristine look to the guitar's edge.

Bolt-on Construction

A number of B.C. Rich guitars use a classic bolt-on construction. On these guitars the neck is connected to the body with 4 bolts. This construction offers some added flexibility in the guitar's adjustment and provides the option to change the neck in the future.

B.C. Rich BDSM Pickups

B.C. Rich designed their BDSM humbucking pickups to provide a solid sound and to be durable while delivering high output. BDSM stands for Broad Dynamic Sonically Matched. Which simply means that the pickup is designed to reproduce a wide range of frequencies accurately (broad dynamic). Then they are tested and matched in pairs (Neck and Bridge) by their inherent individual and signature tonal and output characteristics to give a solidly balanced tone (sonically matched).

The Assassin was introduced in 1986. It was a double cutaway that was a departure for the odd shaped models that B.C. Rich was known for up until that time. In 1986, there were other double cutaways that B.C. Rich began making with various headstocks, pickup configurations, controls and finishes. The ASM model was one of these double cutaways but was introduced much later. There was an ASM 1 and ASM 2, with slightly different shapes and point shapes, but the more pointed and sleek model eventually settled in as the standard ASM shape. The Outlaw originally had holes drilled in the upper bout, but later models were more traditional looking, they were mostly bolt on necks like most of the double cutaway B.C. Rich guitars.

I bought this guitar last summer as my very first electric guitar. At the time i had only been plaing for about 5 months and it was amazing until i become more experienced and learned more complicated stuff. The body is nice and comfortable but the neck is kinda thick for me, and the frets rip your fingers to shreds when sliding a lot. For a cheap guitar, the pickups are pretty nice but gets muddy when you drop tune alot like i do. Depending on the type of music you play, this may b a bad or good guitar. Its nice for thrash and extreme metal, but for more intense and technical music like metalcore or hardcore it has much to b desired. Not bad for the price but if youve been playing for awhile and play technical music then stay away.

Comments about B.C. Rich ASM 1 Electric Guitar:

It plays good, it sounds good; I have guitars that cost twenty times as much money that don't sound twenty times as good.

Comments about B.C. Rich ASM 1 Electric Guitar:

Bought this guitar when it was on special for $ 99. Could not pass up the price. Its actually a decent guitar. Neck is OK but frets a bit rough. Pick ups kinda weak and muddy. Looks good though - stays in tune which is great.

Comments about B.C. Rich ASM 1 Electric Guitar:

Well the guitar itself was very good quality, the paint was nice pristine. But I knew that the bridge pickup was kinda weak but I was ready for that but the neck was really great. 5/5

Excellent electric guitar for the price. The pickups have great tone quality and the action is similar to my Fender Stratocaster.

WOW SURPRISED

By Lance

from Blythe Ca

Comments about B.C. Rich ASM 1 Electric Guitar:

Well i went to guitar center lookin for a good platform to build on for a stage guitar, something cheap that i could put active pickups in and not worry about it getting stolen or breaking from stage abuse. well needless to say this surpassed my expectations. 24 frets fast slim neck and decent pickups. I have an Ibanez Ninja series Rg, Ltd 260fx, and an orriginal 1981 gibson flying v the v all with aftermarket pickups, i'm not saying this bc rich is anywhere near as good as my three others, but with new sd blackouts and pots it will be great for shows and touring, still not studio quallity but close enough. if your looking for a begining guitar you cant ask for much more, or if your like me and want something you can trough in the back of the truck or van without stressing about it getting stolen or lost and still sounding good pick it up too.

Great Guitar.

By Connor

Comments about B.C. Rich ASM 1 Electric Guitar:

Got this Memorial Weekend as my first electric guitar and I was blown away. I have tried fender strats but I'd say this is a much better guitar and it is cheap! The only issue I have are the stock string but replace those and you should be fine.
