A Great unit and a great deal

Fuzzball, The unit has a built-in BBE Sonic Maximizer. It also runs balanced or unbalanced so, regarding patch capability, it's like having a BBE 882i(249.00), a BBE 482i (179.00) plus a compressor. It's only $199.00. There's no other compressor on the market with a built-in BBE, of any kind. It freed up two slots in my road rack and it takes what ever I throw at it, which is a lot. There is no better deal anywhere. No one should be without this BBE Sonic mazimizer/compressor combo.

A good unit but a bit expensive compared to others

This unit is good for recording and live use. The Maxcom adds punch while using subtle compression. The unit does not color the sound since it provides clear transparent compression. The unit is very easy to use for live applications and studio use. The Maxcom does a good job and it is built well the only problem I have with it is that it does not seem to be any better than several other units on the market that can be purchased at a lower price.
