BBE-362 Sonic Maximizer
The BBE 362 Sonic Maximizer offers two channels of BBE?s patented sound enhancement technology. It will brighten, clarify, and add depth and punch to your sound.
It works by preventing the frequency robbing phase cancellation effect typical in traditional sound reinforcement technology by adding a delay of 2.5 milliseconds to the bass frequencies, 0.5 ms to the midrange, and also passing the high frequencies through a Voltage Control Amplifier (VCA), providing continuous dynamic amplitude corrections, ensuring proper high frequency content in the final audio signal and ensuring that the frequency content of the sound coming off your speakers hits your ear at the proper time, eliminating ?muddiness? and ?smearing?.
The unit features a process control, offering up to 10db of phase compensated high frequency boost and a low contour knob offering up to 10db of phase compensated boost at the 50 hz frequency range. There is also an on/off switch, a bypass switch for comparing your effected sound to the bypassed sound, and an LED/clipping indicator.
I use the 362 in the effects loop of my Vox AD-20 VTX. It works great to give solid state and digital modeling amplifiers a dynamic range on par with that of all-tube amps. With my VTX switched to the Modern High Gain, Recto, or US High Gain amp models, the BBE creates a huge, tight modern Metal sound. When used with the Plexi and Vox models, the BBE creates a bright, punchy classic crunch sound. When used with the Blackface 2X12 model, it creates a sparkly, present sound with a full and satisfying low end.
Any of the available BBE Sonic Maximizer models are a highly recommended and cost effective method to improve your sound.

A Must Have
I run straight through a JCM900...love the tone but i needed something to clarify things, a little boost that wouldn't change my tone. A friend suggested i try the BBE sonic maximizer, i did and was blown away. I immediately went to GC and picked one up and haven't put it down since. You can read the manual to find out exactly why it does what it does, but i'll just tell you that it clears everything up, gives you a boost in all the right places, and tightens up your sound WAY more than any $100 piece of equipment should! The best part is, you can use this for anything...guitar, bass, live sound, recording, mixing....it just makes things better.

Great for a bass rig!
My bass player purchased this item for his home studio in order to generate better bass tracks. The unit worked perfectly by adding a tighter more pronounced bass tone. He liked the unit so much that he purchased one for his live rig and let me test it for my studio. After testing I had to agree it did a excellent job for the low price. I liked it so much that I had to order for my studio.

One of the best effects out there
This is an awsome piece of equipment. I through this on my DJ rig, which I also use for live concerts, and it made a world of difference. With recorded music, with this, it goes from sounding like a recording to sounding like it was being performed live right there. Worth every penny in my opinion.

What I was missing
I never knew what I was missing until I added the 362 to my setup. It zapped the mud from my mixes with the simple adjustment of 2 little knobs. I know there's a lot more going on under the hood but, all I need to do is dial in those 2 knobs to get great sound.

Works Great
I just recently added this to my rack. I run this through the effects loop on my Peavey Valveking head to a Mesa 4x12 slant. It really cleans up your sound in the lows and high. It really puts the finishing touch on the tone of your amp. Im not sure how the 482i sounds compared to the 362, but for the price its really a nice piece of equipment. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Truly Amazing
Small Box, Big difference.
I use The BBE 362 Sonic Maximizer on my P.A.'s and my Monitors. I clears up everything. The bypass switch lets you compare your old clean sound with the new ENHANCED sound. I may have to pick up another one of these for my mobile rig.
2 separate inputs, and 2 separate outputs.
19" 1-U rack mount space, not very deep, easy to install and use. Less than a 1 min learning curve to operate.

A Must Have
We are a mobile DJ service and also Provide light and sound for some small concert events. We did not know what to expect from this piece of equipment. We were AMAZED! As you have read in other reviews, this piece of equipment really brings out the lows and accents the highs. Our sound went from good to outstanding. The high and low adjustments allow you to fine tune the sound. We have had many complements! I would highly reccomend this buy, it is a steal for the money..

A "Must Have" for every band!
Our band just put this unit on our PA and wow! EVERYTHING goes through our PA...2 guitars, keyboard, bass, drums and vocals and the BBE 362 just made it all cleaner, brighter, clearer. If you record your gigs and practices, do a before and after test with the BBE and you'll hear just what I'm talking about...bolt it right in to your rack!

sweet
Let me start by saying that this is one of the best things I have ever purchased.
Anyway, you can pretty much pull this thing out of the box plug it in and be good to go. There are only two knobs that you can tweak until something sounds good. Before I even touched them it had already improved my sound and after tweaking my amp sounded so much better. I don't know all the technical stuff to go with it, but the sound is certainly there. I would recommend this guy if my life was on the line...you really can't go wrong with it.
