Overview

The B-52 Matrix 2000 Speaker Sound System consists of 2 - 12" 2-way speakers, an 18" subwoofer with a 3-channel amplifier, and circuitry housed in a separate compartment on the sub unit's back. A 600W amp drives the subs, and 2 - 300W amps drive the 2-ways. All of the components are matched for the best possible sound and balance with minimal tweaking. All you have to do is connect the B-52 Matrix 2000 system components, plug in the power cord, plug in your mixer or other sound source, and you're ready to go!

The B-52 subwoofer enclosure is divided into 2 separate compartments. The front chamber serves as the cabinet for the cast-frame, 4" voice coil and 18" subwoofer. The rear chamber houses all of the system's electronic circuitry, which includes the amplification for all 3 components, power supply, compressor, and preamps. The B-52 subwoofer has a power handling capability of 600W and a nominal impedance of 8 ohms.

Each 12" 2-way Matrix 2000 speaker is loaded with a B-52 custom-designed 12" woofer and a 1" titanium diaphragm compression driver, mounted to a 90 x 40 constant directivity horn. The speakers can be pole mounted, used as stage monitors, or flown with built-in 3/8"”16 TPI hardware for permanent installations. For transport, they mount onto the subwoofer's front grille.

Transporting the B-52 Matrix system is easy: Move the subwoofer onto its casters and place the included cover over the subwoofer. Next, pull the included covers over the satellite speakers and close the zippers. It is recommended that you transport the subwoofer and satellites separately. You may transport all the components at the same time by placing the satellite speakers onto the subwoofer's front panel facing down. Secure the satellite speakers to the subwoofer with the included locking strap by fastening it to the bar handles on the side of the subwoofer cabinet.

The B-52 Matrix 2000 Speaker Sound System has a limited lifetime warranty on cabs and compression drivers; 5-year warranty on speakers; 2-year warranty on amplifiers.

I purchased this in the beginning of the year. Can not say enough about. The system is AWESOME !! Packages up to 1 piece. set up is a breeze. From my experience as a Mobile DJ, clipping/overheating is unheard of. Only minor complaint is the weight of the sub cabinet. Not conducive to carrying up steps. When compared to all the plusses, do not let this stop you. Sound is second to none, fills most any room.

I purchased my system January 31, 2010. I was happy, matter of fact very please with my B52 Matrix 2000 when I used it for my first five gigs; then on the sixth one, the subwoofer started smelling like it was on fire. The voice coils burnt. I sent an email to B52 professionals, I had to pay to send it back to B52, in the interm I purchased a replacement speaker because I had another show coming up. Sent the burnt one back and bottom line they said that it isn't under warranty. Some 5 year warranty.

Great Bang for your buck!

By Frank R.

from Hawthorne, CA

I've used all types of PA's as a mobile DJ, and when it comes down to getting the most for your dollars, B 52 matrix 2000 is the excellent combination of great quality sounding equipment for a reasonable price. Agreed that the subwoofer is bulky, but I like to think of it as sturdy ( you haven't lived until a drunk guy has fallen on your subwoofer and hurt himself more than he hurt the sub, that should teach him a lesson).

Fantastic!

By Tommy W.

from Paris, TN

I have looked at many all in one systems and decided on the MATRIX 2000. This system is simply AWESOME! We run our laptop through a small mixer and this system just rocks! The bass is amazing, great highs and mids. We had a outdoor party and neighbors close to 2 miles down the road said they could hear the bass! Guests all asked about it and loved the sound! I would highly suggest the MATRIX 2000 to anyone wanting to upgrade to a better system that truly gets people up and dancing!

Great Deal for $$

By Eric

from Connecticut

I've used it all. Stand alone speakers, amped speakers, stand alone subs, powered subs, amp racks, cds, records, mp3...you name it, I've used it. This speaker set-up is perfect for a mobile DJ who needs to fill a bar/pub, a tent for a wedding, or a large banquet hall. Awesome deal for the $$. I still use this setup today.

Not Road Worthy

By Anonymous

from Reno NV

Good rig for the money. Easy to set up and use. Sound is decent. It would be nice if the sub box was a bit lighter. For sure a two man lift. My biggest complaint about the Matrix 2000 is that for a portable system it is not very "road worthy" I have used it for 5 gigs and I am already having issues with it cutting out and not working properly. Great set up if it is going to stay in one place. But if you are thinking about getting one and moving it around a lot I hope you have a good working knowledge of electronics and a soldering iron.

Excellent Value

By DJ Epic

from Bay City, MI

Buy it, you wont regret it! The system sounds amazing. Very powerful subs, crisp speakers, durable, and down right awesome. I recently purchased a sonic maximizer, and this PA sounds just as good, or better than systems costing a WHOLE lot more money.

BUY THIS NOW!!!!!!

By Tim Bayer

from Mobile, AL

I the Music Ministry for a church and we lost our PA in Hurricane Katrina. We replaced it with the B-52 Matrix 2000 System. Never has the sound been better. Our old system was a JBL mains with Crown poweramps and this system is as good if not better. Plus the addition of the subwoofer has really added a real depth to our music ministry. Full sound and perfect clarity any where in the sanctuary. A few months ago we had a youth rally with several bands and I got the chance to really crank it up. They all wanted to buy our sound system. We had this system installed about 3 months after Katrina and it has worked 3 Sermons a weeks for about 3 years flawlessly. BRAVO B-52 and guitarcenter for a great product and a good price.
