I bought this back in 2006 to play small gigs and just to practice on. All I can say is wow, what an awesome amp. I was skeptical at first, the price seemed almost too good. I use a BOSS Metal Zone pedal with it and it sounds amazing, I was able to get the extact tone I wanted. The clean setting is way better than any Marshall I have played on, great for playing blues or jazz, even better for metal!

I just bought this amp on the GC webpage two weeks ago. Shipping was excelent (less than 4 days). When I turned on the amp for the first time, I was very impress with the sound; nothing to envy to other well known brands. However, after 1 hour I noticed that the back cover of the amp was out of place. When I closely looked at it, I notice that there was a broken piece of wood inside. I thought: "ok, no big deal, the sound stills great". After one week, a crackling noise started to come out from the clean channel. I didn't move the amp from one place to another, and I followed all the cares you must have when operating a tube amp (believe me, I know). I tryed everything withot touching the amp, but the noise was still there. I guess it was a tube failure or something. But, who wants this kind of things with a new amp? Plus, it was broken on the back. I guess I should listened to the reviews in other web pages. Overall, I think you get what you pay for. Maybe that is why other tube amps are so expensive; they are made with better parts (also because of the logo, I guess). I'm waiting to have more money to buy something better. I think you should wait too.

from mellow to Face Melting...

By meatsaw

from ok

This amp is in closeout to make room for the new series B-52 is coming out with. The cleans are just that..crystal clear and bright. the dirty channel can go from a warm bluesy OD to face melting distortion, just scoop the mids and turn down the contour. it really sounds awesome.. if you play metal and are on a budget, get this amp before its too late!

Decent Overall Tube Amp

By Texas Dave

from Frisco, Texas

I play in local Blues Jams. I needed an amp that was inexpensive. I don't like abusing expensive gear for 3 songs at an unpaid gig. The reverb was unusable because it resonated with the fan. After isolating the tank from the amps bottom with foam, it was fixed. Also, the stock tubes were weak. I retubed with JJ 6L6s and rebiased them, and used preamp ECC83s to smooth out the distortion. The design of the amp is very sound. Mine needed a little work because it was a floor model. With an electronics background I was able to get it sounding 110%.

Line 6 PLUS Fender

By Lead guitarist Paul

from El Dorado Hills

Pretty descent amp. Not bad for the price and the quality. This amp incorporates the quality of a Line 6 spider with the tone of a fender deville with some creamy distortion. I really want to get my hands on one of these and so should you. They are perfect for live small gigs and good for micing for larger gigs. Also I have been dying to record with some good quality amps and this amp does the job well and for the price it blows me away!

B-52 AT-112

By Todd

from OKC. Oklahoma

Ok this amp is has 2 6L6 power tubes and five 12AX7 pre. Built in fan which suprised me. Anyway two channels, the clean channel is clean very clean no break up or hair at all until you hit around 5 on the volume,by the way there is no master volume just a volume for each channel. The clean can get some really cool jazz tones or surf music. The dirty channel is really why I bought this amp it roars like Godzilla. It has a contour knob and a resonance knob which both work great. I'm getting some Van Halen type tones out of this amp and some 90's metal tones. You can get some classic tones as well, you have to tweak the contour knob and turn the gain down but it seems to get a little more brittle sounding when the gain is turned down. That's probably because it's a 112 enclosure. It has an effects loop works great, using a G-major through it occasionally. I have heard of problems with these amps but it has a 5 yr warranty for the money how could you go wrong. This amp really kicks major "well you know"

Great amp!

By James Lowe

from Arvada, CO

This amp is a great quality tube amp for a small price. It has a great tone for metal, and it also delivers Fender quality clean tones. You wont find a better amplifier for the money. Buyer beware, the reason I gave this 4 starts instead of 5 is because while this is an outstanding amp, the tubes it comes with from the factory are very poor and will go out quickly. I highly recommend you put in better tubes. Overall, amazing amp. Just need to put in better tubes and you are set.

Great Guitar Amp

By Zac

from Ohio

I'm actually a bass player, but the guitarist I play with uses this amp. He's happy with it, it's a great amp and it's fair priced. We've never had a problem with volume or anything. It handles distortion, along with the suitcase of pedals he runs through it, very well. The only thing is you will need to change the tubes. It comes with the low end of low end tubes, and at high volumes the sound gets scratchy and has a little bit of a hiss. Also it weighs a lot more than the 40 pounds it's advertised as. Overall, if you're looking for a good amp that's relatively cheap, this is a good way to go

Aleluia Chorus much? it's God in a combo!

By guitardude221

from baltimore, md

My friend let me play on his B-52 AT half stack, and since then, I've wanted to get my hands on a B-52. I realized that a Fender 25R just wasn't cutting it, and wow! This amp is amazing! It's a steal, now I can play most every style and get just the right tone. The only negative is that the warm distortion doesn't quite sound perfect for Metallica-like stuff, but the AT-112 is still, nonetheless GREAT in every aspect of the word. I also love the clean tone that the tubes give, it makes jazz guitar so much nicer on the ears than a solid state. Who wouldn't want that? All I have to say is if you're looking at this amp, don't hesitate, BUY IT! You definitely will not regret it!
