I bought these to replace my DW 7002 after readings tons of reviews saying how light they were and how smooth they were which was an amazing thought after having the heavy, slow DW pedal. But it is too light. I felt like i had no control of the pedal whenever i was playing it. however i must say that it is extremely smooth and the zero backlash is absolutely true. but just hard to control.
i got the pedals bout a month ago and ive fallen in love with them ive used plenty of other names and these are top quality you get speed and consistency and you can do alot of different techniques with them i got down swivel foot pretty quickly overall a really awesome pedal light fast nice clear stroke and awesome feel and look
After playing Iron Cobras for many years...with no problems....I decided to see what the direct drive was all about.....So without being able to try them out because no store in NH or MA carry them, that I could find......I read the reviews and bought my self a pair of XL-2 Longboards....The day them came in I could not stop playing them, and to this day, I still cant.....I play barefoot using lots heel/toe and swivel...These pedals do exactly what I need them to do...with tons of power and speed......Axis Fan 4EVER!
Has them for over a month and they are just as beautiful as the day I started using them. I can't say i've come across many problems with them, and they're in perfect condition still. If you like heel-toe kicking, or are just learning then these guys right here are for you. They let your feet flow freely and quickly. Not having them is like not even playing an instrument, drums just aren't drums until longboards and used on them,
I have used the Iron Cobra pedal for years with no complaints but having purchased a second drum kit (one for gigging and one for practice), I was in the market for a new double bass pedal. After lots of research and trying a variety of pedals, I settled on the Axis. It's price is comparable to a number of pedals, but it's performance was simply above the pack. While I've only had it for a couple of weeks, I have no complaints in terms of the quality of construction (something I had read in one review). It's a very precise pedal with lots of adjustment possibilities.
To not play these pedals is like giving the field 20 extra points! What can I say...spend the money and play like a "pro".
this pedals is by far the top model for the price, and even better than some of the higher priced ones. I have compared this to the Trick Dominator, The DW 8000, the TAMA Iron Cobra and Pearl Eliminator, and this just sweeps them away. the only problem is the upkeep. this pedal requiers alot of care
very very good pedals when you get them, but they are extremely hard to maintain them. I have only had them for 3 months and the ball bearings in the u joint have broken and striped out the surrounding area. Theyre very smooth, light, and fast but they just break down to fast.
