Comments about Avid Mbox 3 and Pro Tools Express:
Very nice inexpensive package/means of getting introduced to ProTools. MBox worked with ProTools without a hitch (Quick note: plug into USB 2.0 by itself if one available. Heard that USB 3.0 might eventually cause issues). MBox works with my other DAWS as well. PT Express is good way to first learn and evaluate ProTools. Be aware it is a 32 bit program, and, in and of itself can only access the first 4 gigs of RAM even on a 64 bit computer. Also look at the limitations in PT site. If like ProTools will probably want/need to upgrade fairly quickly. Further quirk. PT site in Red Letters warns that it does not support Windows 8.1 in PT 11 version. Not sure how true, am waiting to upgrade until I know it works fairly cleanly.
