The Avantone BV-1 merges classic looks with exceptionally intelligible sound. The overall design, character and performance of the BV-1 can be compared to some of the finest vintage tube microphones from the 50s and 60s, but at a fraction of the cost.

With its elegant, retro Butter Cream finish, the BV-1 features modern-day transformer coupled tube circuitry that captures the character of famous European and American vintage microphones. The BV-1 is manufactured using premium grade resistors and capacitors along with precision-machined brass structural components that yield a very solid feel, superb sonic integrity and rugged reliability. The versatile BV-1 mic is able to produce professional results with an open, warm, pleasing sonic character.

Comments about Avantone BV-1 Tube Condensor Microphone:

This mic is a sleeper! Not only does it look really cool, but it sounds smooth and huge. Has a way of putting the vocal really far forward. Not sibilant (as some mics can be), very bold, warm--yet not in a muddy way or a smeared way, just...right.

Always a reaction from performers when put on a mic stand.

Dynamite on banjo, really meaty on acoustic guitar, as a room mic=killer. It isn't an airy, pop mic. It doesn't sound like a modern Swift or Beiber vocal...but that isn't what it's supposed to be. This is meant to sound like a classic...a vintage tube mic that would've been hanging around the studio with Sinatra or Elvis or Nat King Cole.

Anybody would be proud to have this thing as a cornerstone piece in a studio. Get's you in the big leagues without a new mortgage. Would recommend a 'mic grade' NOS tube swap. Find a reputable tube dealer and do it. No regrets here.
