A awsome studio tool for any studio
The Avalon VT737SP may be expensive but it is a very versatile studio tool. The unit has very usable preamps which I especially like using on acoustic guitars. The compressor is easy to use and it does a very good job (it seems to not leave many annoying artifacts). You can get everything from a gentle soft compression to a fast pumping over compressed signal (which is sometimes desired for unique applications). The de-ess control is also excellent to have, I found it very useful for a female singer that tended to over enunciate the s sound on tracks. The EQ is also very clean and smooth making this a great unit to use with many options.

Avalon Vt-737... for vox, bass and snare
I have used my 737 extensively for 2 years... mostly on the Vocals but also for direct bass and sometimes snare. Easy to learn to use (my first real pre) and I have had great results. 3 cheers for Avalon!!!

Say Hello to Papa
This is by far the best Mic Pre on the market. If you wonder how do the professionals make their vocals sound so warm, and present, Mic Preamps is the answer. The Avalon is very expensive, but the company nailed it. This is the father of all Mic Preamps.
