  • Big Boy Sound In A Two Space Rack

As reviewed by James Greene on 4/24/2008

Avalon is right on the money with this one. I use the Vt737 on just about everything. I even track stereo sources with the two that I have. I guess you could argue that there are better dedicated compressors, but the one in the Vt737 is more than adequate. The clarity is superb. For your front-end you can't go wrong with the Vt737sp. If you want to sound like the big boys you need big boy equipment.

  • A awsome studio tool for any studio

As reviewed by Fuzzball on 10/3/2006

The Avalon VT737SP may be expensive but it is a very versatile studio tool. The unit has very usable preamps which I especially like using on acoustic guitars. The compressor is easy to use and it does a very good job (it seems to not leave many annoying artifacts). You can get everything from a gentle soft compression to a fast pumping over compressed signal (which is sometimes desired for unique applications). The de-ess control is also excellent to have, I found it very useful for a female singer that tended to over enunciate the s sound on tracks. The EQ is also very clean and smooth making this a great unit to use with many options.

  • Say Hello to Papa

As reviewed by Nico on 1/9/2007

This is by far the best Mic Pre on the market. If you wonder how do the professionals make their vocals sound so warm, and present, Mic Preamps is the answer. The Avalon is very expensive, but the company nailed it. This is the father of all Mic Preamps.
