I purchased this product less than 30 days ago and needed an additional box. The "Night Blue" that this product used to be was a Guitar Center/Musician's Friend exclusive. The product color varied from box to box. Guitar Center changed the color within a couple of weeks of my original order so now I'm unable to complete my project. Non-Returnable item.
I ordered these from Guitar Center not too long ago. It came earlier than expected which was great! Working to turn my room into a home recording studio, I put the foam up in patterns on my walls and ceilings and the result was amazing. The acoustics are great and everybody loves coming into my room to hear it. Such a difference walking in from a different part of the house to the room. I would not recommend using the glue that is supplied with the kit, unless you are going to permanently put them on your walls. I used a staple gun and it worked great. Highly recommended to any recording artists or musicians out there!
I purchased this kit about 2 weeks ago and it really does make a difference in my room. I had made some acoustic panels and between the panels and the auralex kit, there's is a huge difference. With the 32 squares the kit comes, I made 8 big diamond shapes and spread them around. The foam is nice and solid. It's a must buy for small home studios. It's also a bonus that is makes your setup look a little more professional.
I like the pads alot. Wish the the kit included the Auralex Foamtak SPRAY adhesive, rather than the tubes of adhesive, since it is easier, less messy, and gives the option of better foam removal when needed. I had to purchase this separately, and probably will not use the tubes of adhesive included. I tried to exchange them for the Foamtak, but the local Guitar Center did not carry the tubes of adhesive included in the kit, so could not do an exchange..
This studio foam is great. I put it up and when my friends and family came over they were expecting the room to look kind of funny....but they thought it to be a compliment to the room! Th foam does a great job of sound dampening and containing the wave lengths within my studio. I plan on buying three more instalments to finish what I have started! Buy it ....its worth it!
We have an office in an old chocolate factory. The floors are wood and the ceiling is wood in some spots, poured concrete slab in others. Our conference room, unfortunately, is next to the train, which gets a lot of reverb. A sound insulation consultant recommended ceiling tiles, carpet, and to cover the window facing the train w/plexi to reduce the noise. We haven't done the plexi yet, but we've used a combination of FLOR tile carpets and these foam tiles and there's a very noticeable difference just walking in and out of the conference room. It took 4 boxes to cover the ceiling, but was worth all the time, money, and effort we spent.
I used the studiofoam designer kit in the production room here at the radio station. Not only did it take care of my sound problem it really gave the room a rich, professional look. For the price you cannot beat it. I plan to purchase another kit for the control room.
I used the Auralex Studiofoam Designer Kit for my home studio and it helped out 100%. You'll be suprised how much of a difference this kit can make to a home studio and for the price $99 its very affordable. This is the best for the price foam i've found while working with a low budget.
I use the Auralex Studiofoam in my home studio and , a room I converted into a home theater. They're easy to install using Foamtak acoustic foam spray adhesive, which doesn't destroy the foam. The Auralex keep your speakers, amps & instruments, from being overpowered by reflections of their sound bouncing off the walls, & absorbs some of the extraneous sound, yeilds nearly total acoustic sound isolation, resulting in purity of tone. Plus they have a professional look. They really work, a must for home recording.
