  • Wedges R Good Fo' Me

As reviewed by DC Campbell on 8/25/2006

I have to tell you man that the wedges are sweet. I was having echo flutters and boomy bass build up but when I added the Bass Traps & the Studio Wedges I got better sound resonance. I place some along the sides of my vocal space and it opened up the sound without all the adding background. A sweet product. I definietly recommend Wegdes.

  • Good lookin' and effective

As reviewed by Mic Hunter on 8/5/2010

I bought two boxes of these. I put them in my basement to cut down on the sound that goes into the rest of the house, and they are a great help. In addition the sound in the room greatly improved. They look so good and work so well I probably will buy more, but even with only a small percentage of the wall covered the sound is so much better. With the foam in place echo is cut down and I can play longer with much less ear fatigue. I didn't glue them on the wall, but used fish line to hold them in place. That way it is easy to move them if I want to change the room's sound.

  • Great, but way over-priced by Auralex

As reviewed by William Sherman on 12/14/2011

I would have given this 5 stars if it were more affordable. I would have given it only 1-2 stars had it been low quality as well, but the quality IS decent. This foam is also fire retardant, and does indeed help with acoustics. But the price is prohibitive. If you shop around you won't find a much better deal on Auralex than here on Guitar Center, so it is just over-priced in general everywhere. Even tiny spaces are going to need A LOT of this stuff and the price adds up dramatically fast. Yes it has been chemically treated, but otherwise we are talking about plain old super light-weight FOAM here folks. I set up about $400 worth of Auralex foam in my small studio and it was no where near enough to get the full benefit. Likely I will need to spend 2-3x more to get the coverage I really need to make it most effective. In conclusion the Auralex foam is a great product and works as advertised. However, you should think again if you think you'll be able to get away with DIY acoustic-proofing this way for less than $1000. (because I promiss you'll need more than they claim you do, even for a tiny studio). Hope this helps.
