Comments about Audix T-50K Inline Impedance Matching Transformer:

This thing is perfect for feeding a balanced mix output through faIrly long XLR cable into a guitar amp with unbalanced hi-Z input. The amp can then double as a monitor. An XLR/TRS adapter still results in 60Hz noise. It's built with a short cable between the input and the output, so there's no strain on the 1/4" jack on the amp. The T50K does great for its intended task of connecting a balanced mic to an unbalanced device like a looper or amp as well. Think of it as a backwards direct box. Watch the input levels. You can end up with a reeeely hot signal!
